hazelnut oil
Hazelnut oil has a true, delicate, nutty flavor for pastries, cookies, and candies and is delicious on salads and for accenting other cold dishes. Small quantities are enough to give flavor to the dish. Use as a marinade with fish or chicken. Can be used as body oil, if desired. Keep refrigerated.
After the ice ages, the hazelnut tree was the first tree to reestablish itself. Today it is mainly grown in Turkey, Italy and the Northwestern United States. We use only superior quality nuts from Turkey, which are slightly roasted to enhance the flavor profile before they are low-resistance expeller pressed. The nut is high in fatty acids that promote energy and protein synthesis.
