All De Cecco wholemeal pasta is made according to the original De Cecco system. Many pasta companies make wholemeal pasta subjecting the wheat meal to a thermal treatment before the actual pasta-making to prevent fat degradation. In De Cecco our own special method is followed to obtain wheat meal and the low temperature desiccation method is used in order to preserve all the fiber proprieties, mingling to the sweet fragrance of the wheat and thus straight onto your table. Linguine originated in Liguria, where they have become part of the gastronomic and culinary tradition. They are long pasta rods with a flat, or almost flat section and a varying thickness from 1,37 mm and 1,45 mm.
Linguine are excellent with oil and aromatic herbs based sauces, pesto above all. Thanks to their versatility they are also recommended with butter based sauces and with seafood and shellfish sauces. Another deliciuos combination is with "white" creamy sauces made with milk cream, mascarpone, soft and melted cheese all mixed with spices, such as curry, saffron, radish and ginger.
