Green tea extract also has the ability to increase the body’s own antioxidant activity. Studies have shown that green tea extract helps to inhibit cancer by inhibiting the creation of nitrosamines and carcinogens, as well as detoxifying other cancer-causing agents. Green tea is particularly effective against stomach, breast, lung and colon cancers as well as cancers of the pancreas and small intestines.
Green tea extract can also be used on the skin as an anti-irritant for individuals with sensitive skin. To date, green tea extract does not have any significant side effects.
