Jojoba, recognized internationally 
for its skin caring properties, has a chemical structure similar 
to human sebum (oil). Wax beads can be formed from jojoba that 
are perfectly round, without ridges or rough edges that might 
damage the skin as it is scrubbed. 

Jojoba wax beads provide 
the best of both worlds as a scrub. Initially, they have a 
polishing effect, gently smoothing out the surface of the skin, 
helping it glow. As the wax beads are warmed by the skin, 
however, they melt into the skin, giving it a velvety softness 
instead of a roughed-up, abused feeling. Jojoba wax bead scrubs, 
such as Annemarie Borlind Exfoliating Peel, can be used more 
vigorously, leading to better cleaning (exfoliation) of dead 
skin cells.
