The Indian Gooseberry (Emblica Officinalis/Amla)
is one of the richest natural sources of vitamin C, containing
up to 720 mg/100g of fresh pulp and 921 mg/100cc of pressed
juice. This is approximately 20 times the vitamin C content of
an Orange. Amalaki fruit has, in fact, been used successfully to
treat human scurvy. It is also effective in the treatment of
amlapitta (peptic ulcer) as well as in non-ulcer dyspepsia. The
alcoholic extract (1gm/kg) given to isoprotenol-pretreated rats
resulted in an increase in cardiac glycogen and a decrease in
serum LDH, suggesting a cardio-protective action. It also
demonstrated a statistically significant reduction in serum
cholesterol levels and an anti-atherogenic effect in
rabbits.
Eclipta Alba contains folic acid, ferrous and
manganese which helps to stimulate liver function. Eclipta Alba
has anti-toxic properties and works to prevent fatty
infiltration in the liver. The prolonged use of Eclipta Alba
thus ensures better liver function and cleansing of toxins.
Emblica officinalis supplies vitamins C and helps to fight
infection. All the other ingredients in HEM are well balanced to
enrich haemoglobin, regularize liver function, and help the body
to get rid off toxins and infections.
DOSAGE: One capsule
twice daily with water after food.
