All NOW® bovine products are derived from healthy cattle, which meet USA/FDA requirements. You can rest assured that they have been fully documented and are BSE-Free.
What types of capsule does NOW® use , what is their source, and are they free of BSE?
NOW® uses two different types of capsules during encapsulation – gelatin capsules and vegetable capsules.
Our gelatin capsules are derived from beef and pork sources. Our vegetable capsules are derived from tree fiber and are domestically sourced. They contain no animal source ingredients whatsoever. All of the capsules used in NOW® products are BSE-free.
