Some people simply do not like the taste of flax seed oil, and prefer to take it in capsule form. These capsules are carob-coated to protect the oil from light.
Flax seed oil is the most potent known source of alpha-linolenic acid (ALA, C18:3 w-3). It is extracted from organically grown flax seeds using a special cold-pressing process which minimizes the damaging effects of light, oxygen and heat. Flax seed oil is also rich in linoleic acid (LA, C18:2 w-6), the omega-6 essential fatty acid, as well as in the healthful omega-9 oleic acid. With a total EFA content greater than 70 percent, and a total unsaturation of greater than 90 percent, flax seed oil is a convenient and cost-effective means of supplementing with omega-3, omega-6, and omega-9 fatty acids. It is packaged in a special UVA/UVB light-inhibiting bottle. A special natural anti-oxidant is included to ensure a fresher, longer lasting product.
