The unique cassava source makes Buffered C Cassava root source well-tolerated by individuals unable to tolerate other sources of vitamin C. The product has exactly the same formula as #50000 and contains ascorbic acid and carbonates of calcium, magnesium and potassium, giving it an acid-alkaline buffering action (pH 7.0 in water) potentially improving bowel tolerance and minimizing hyperacidity.
Cassava, or Manihot esculenta, is a bushy herb or shrub from South America with long tuberous edible roots very rich in starch. The roots are used as potatoes. Starch obtained from cassava roots is a starting material for a multiple-step chemical process of manufacturing of ascorbic acid.
Allergy Research Group/NutriCology Inc. has pioneered the development of buffered vitamin C products, and continues to offer the purest and least allergenic vitamin C products available anywhere. In addition to its hefty content of ascorbic acid, our Buffered Vitamin C Cassava root source also supplies potassium and the macrominerals calcium and magnesium at approximately one half of the RDI per level teaspoon. Due to its generous complement of calcium (350 mg per teaspoon), supplementation with our buffered vitamin C may be desirable for individuals who do not regularly consume dairy products.
Each 2 capsules contain:
Vitamin C (as Ascorbic Acid)
1000 mg Calcium (as Calcium Carbonate)
190 mg
Magnesium (as Magnesium Carbonate)
104 mg
Potassium (as Potassium Carbonate) 16 mg
Other ingredients:
Cellulose, stearic acid.
Suggested Use:
As a dietary supplement, 1 or 2 capsules, two to three times daily, between meals, or as directed by a health practitioner.
As with all Vitamin C formulations, as one begins to achieve body saturation "bowel tolerance" may be temporarily exceeded and diarrhea or loose stools may occur. As the high levels of vitamin C in the tissues become used up, the bowel symptoms should ease.*
