The most well known Japanese green tea variety is known as "Bancha." Hojicha is made by roasting Bancha leaves at a high temperature until they turn reddish-brown and take on a strong aromatic fragrance and roasted flavor.
How does it taste? Pleasantly nutty and smoky with slightly bitter and astringent undertones. Add a slice of lemon or orange if desired.

For maximum benefit, medicinal tea must be properly prepared. Pour 8 oz. freshly boiled water over a tea bag in a cup. Cover cup and steep 5-10 minutes. These steps directly influence the amount of beneficial components that will end up in your teacup! Gently squeeze the tea bag to release any remaining extract.
Drink 3 cups or more daily. For an extra strength brew, use two teabags or brew up a whole pot using four or five teabags.
