What are Krill and
where to they come from?
Krill are small shrimp-like
crustaceans that can be found in all of the world’s oceans;
however the greatest proportion exists in Antarctic waters.
Antarctic krill (also known as Euphausia superba) is so
plentiful; in fact, it is thought to be one of the most abundant
animal species on the planet. The Antarctic female krill can lay
up to 10,000 eggs at a time; sometimes several times a
season.
What are the active ingredients in Krill and what

Considered a delicacy and source of
protein by the Japanese, krill offer various essential nutrients
including omega-3 fatty acids eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and
docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), along with natural antioxidants
(vitamin A and E, astaxanthin, and “novel marine-source”
flavonoids).
Scientists have discovered that the Antarctic
krill’s phospholipids (key “protective” component of the cell
membrane that contains fatty acids) have a higher concentration
of omega-3 EPA and DHA than other krill as found in the Pacific.
Antarctic krill’s high fatty acid profile closely resembles that
of the human brain’s own phospholipids, therefore it is more
easily recognized by the body.
Are all Krill Oils the
