Golden Tahuari is a tree bark that is traditionally used to treat urinary, hepatic and respiratory disorders, fevers, infections, gastric ulcers, gastritis, eczema, and rheumatism. More recently, it has gained popularity around the world in treating different types of cancer, probably due to its moderate anti-neoplasic activity.
Tahuari is a close relative of the Brazilian Pau d'Arco. This bark is harvested from a large species of hardwood tree whose use predates written history. Pleasant tasting, the Shipibo, Conibo, Mashigenka, and other Amerindians of the upper Amazon have it well ensconced into their pharmacopeia.
