Vitamin B-6 Reduces Risk Of Colon Cancer

As if you needed another reason to get your B's. A new study from Harvard Medical School shows that high daily levels of vitamin B-6 can lessen your chances of developing colon cancer by 58%. Researchers evaluated nearly 33,000 women who participated in the Harvard Nurse' Health Study; those who had the most protective effect from B-6 got 8.6 mg from food and supplements daily, above five times the RDA. Though scientists are still unsure how B-6 protects against colon Cancer, they note the people with high levels have less chance of having damaged DNA, which can lead to cancer.
