Breastfeeding is as beneficial for children’s blood pressure as exercise and salt restriction is for adult blood pressure, according to a new European study. The researchers analyzed the effect of breastfeeding on 2000 children from Denmark and Estonia between ages 9 – 15, and those who had been exclusively breastfed had lower systolic blood pressure than those who had not. Plus a longer a child has been breastfeed, the lower was his or her pressure. Archives of Disease in Childhood 6/05
