Horsetail (Equisetum arvense)
Definition: Used for centuries to treat internal and external injuries, horsetail helps to facilitate the use of calcium in the body and has a high silica content. It is particularly good for boosting circulation, promoting the healing of broken bones and for kidney and urinary tract diseases. It is considered a natural diuretic and astringent.
Applications: Arthritis, bladder ailments, bedwetting, conjunctivitis, bone injuries, glandular disorders, hair loss, kidney stones, nervous tension, tumors and urinary problems.
Scientific Updates: Research has found that horsetail contains antibiotic and hemolytic (blood-clotting) properties.120 Its rich array of minerals makes it ideal for the healing of injured tissue and bone. It is especially effective in poultice form.
Complementary Agents: Ginseng, marshmallow, plantain, alfalfa, yucca, dandelion, parsley, saw palmetto, glucosamine, shark cartilage, vitamin C, HCL, phosphorus and calcium/magnesium.
