Oregon Grape (Berberis aquifolium)
Definition: Oregon grape is another berberine-containing herb which has been used to treat infection. It has the ability to contribute to blood cleansing which makes it a favorite choice for the treatment of skin disorders. It is also considered a glandular tonic.
Applications: Acne, anemia, blood purification, fever, indigestion, immune system, infections, eczema, jaundice, liver disorders, psoriasis, skin ailments, staph infections and vaginal yeast infections.
Scientific Updates: Laboratory studies have confirmed that Oregon grape has a similar bacteriocidal effect as goldenseal.The berberine and hydrastine herbs have some impressive credentials in their natural antibiotic effect.
