Shark Cartilage
Definition:
Shark cartilage is a nutritional supplement gleaned from the exoskeleton of the shark. It contains chemical compounds with the impressive ability to inhibit the growth of new blood vessel systems (antiangiogenesis), cutting off the blood supply to some types of tumors, resulting in their shrinkage or disappearance. Cancers characterized by solid tumors seem most susceptible. Continuing research is underway for the use of shark cartilage not only for cancer, but for AIDS, arthritis, diabetic retinopathy, neovascular glaucoma, psoriasis and enteritis as well.
Applications:
Acne, asthma, cancer (breast, cervix, Karposi's sarcoma, prostate, pancreatic, ovarian, testicular), colitis, eczema, glaucoma (neovascular), diabetic retinopathy, high blood pressure, poison ivy and oak, pruritus ani (intense anal itching), cataracts, emphysema, gastritis, enteritis, hemorrhoids, joint inflammation, mandibular alveolitis and psoriasis skin disorders.
Recommendations:
Obtaining a reliable source of whole shark cartilage that has been properly processed is vital to potency and action. Look for 100 percent pure, powdered forms with no fillers or binders that can be used in appropriate dosages, especially for cancer treatment. Loose powders may be the most practical form and can be mixed with juice. If you have cancer, large dosage of this compound is required. Supplements are also available in gel caps or liquid forms. Topical ointments or creams are also available for skin disorders.
