Subject: Common Causes of a Zinc Deficiency
A decreased intake and absorption of zinc can happen when you have the following going on:
- Inflammation or Acute Infections
- Cirrhosis of the Liver,/li>
- Alcoholism
- Anorexia
- Burns
- Post Trauma from accidents or surgery
- Protein Deficiencies
- Vegetarian Diet
- Starvation - long term no food
The following can cause decreased absorption:

Other causes of deficiencies:
- Old age - Elderly
- pregnancy and or lactation
- Oral Contraceptive use (birth control)
