The Goal is Balance (Body System Balance) and CBD
January 22, 2020 09:36 AM
Since its discovery in 1992, researchers have been investigating the existence of a central regulatory system called the Endocannabinoid System (ECS).
The ECS is made of cannabinoid receptors, endogenous (Self-made) cannabis-like compounds and enzymes that create an inactivate them. The ECS is one of the most important physiologic systems involved in establishing and maintaining human health.
PhytoCannabinoids like CBD, of which well over 100 have been found to exist, are plant derivatives that “talk” to just about every major organ system in the body via the ECS, helping restore normal balance and physiologic homeostasis.
EndoCannabinoids and their receptors are found throughout the body. In each tissue, Cannabinoids perform different tasks, but the goal is always the same: homeostasis, maintaining a stable internal environment despite fluctuations in the external environment.
So, why is CBD important for the ECS? Because CBD modulates endocannabinoid tone and may help keep healthy people healthy.

Hemp phytoCannabinoids interact with receptors and signaling compounds in the body known collectively as the endocannabinoid system, and by doing so, help relieve pain. Sometimes our own endocannabinoid levels are low. They can be consumed by enzymes, underfed by a poor diet, or simply depleted by stress and chronic pain. that's where hemp oil can help. I recommend a hemp that contains a full spectrum of beneficial phytoCannabinoids.

How Can Cannabis Help with Autoimmune Disorders?
May 02, 2019 01:59 PM
Autoimmune diseases affect nearly 50 million people living in the United States. These diseases can lead to either over-activation, where antibodies may attack otherwise healthy organs, or under-activation, where not enough antibodies are produced to effectively fight off diseases. Using cannabis may be an alternative means of dealing with autoimmune disorders. Cannabinoids have been shown to be able to bind to receptors within the body which appears to be a possible therapeutic key. Studies with hepatitis, psoriasis, fibromyalgia, Crohn's disease, and Multiple Sclerosis have shown cannabis to provide some relief. However, there are some risk of discomfort from side-effects that could occur with using cannabis to treat autoimmune diseases.
"In cases of over-activation, the immune system produces antibodies in response to an unknown trigger that attacks the body's own tissues and organs."

3 Ways to Boost Your Endocannabinoid System (Without Cannabis)
December 06, 2018 10:16 AM
endocannabinoid system includes mood, memory, pain, and more within the body. It is mainly found in CBD oil made from marijuana. This system's purpose is to keep every thing in check with one another from the circulatory system to the nervous system. There are other ways to help with regulation of the body. Not only CBS oil but CBC has been known for it's pain relief and anti-inflammatory qualities. To help your own endocannabinoid system, feed it, don't ignore it, and then nurture it.
"To reduce the impact of stress on the endocannabinoid system, experts suggest introducing healthy behaviors such as exercise, social interaction, massage, yoga, meditation, acupuncture, and even fasting, which Gersh notes can actually help increase natural endocannabinoids."

Known as the "bliss molecule", anandamide is a natural way to stimulate a sense of happiness
August 10, 2018 05:53 PM
Anandamide is a natural endocannabinoid produced in your body and found in certain foods that stimulates the same pleasure receptors as psychoactive THC. Anandamide and other endocannabinoids can help protect the brain from stress and damage, and encourage balanced moods and better consolidation of memories. The only two foods with large amounts of anandamide are (famously expensive) black truffles and chocolate, especially cacao powder and nibs, which are less processed. Several other foods, including black pepper, olive oil, grapes, broccoli, spinach and others can also raise your anandamide levels.
"The “bliss molecule” is a natural neurotransmitter and endocannabinoid that creates a sense of happiness, an article on Be Brain Fit stated."

Omega-3 Fatty Acids Fighting Inflammation Via Cannabinoids
August 08, 2018 09:53 AM
Animal tissue trials suggest that humans can convert Omega 3 Fatty Acids into endocannabinoid compounds that fight inflammation without causing a high. These chemicals are distant relatives of the euphoria-inducing THC in marijuana. Enzymes in your body can process omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids into compounds that bind to the cannabinoid system to boost immunity and fight inflammation. This results in the same medical effects as marijuana without the high. More research is needed, as the cannabinoid system may end up being one of the major endocrine systems in the body.
"Cascading chemical reactions were revealed in animals tissues studies that convert omega-3 fatty acids into cannabinoids with anti-inflammatory benefits and lacking in psychotropic highs, as published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences."

CBD may help smokers quit cigarettes, finds new study
June 20, 2018 04:44 PM
Humans have what is called a electrochemical system that can be directly impacted by substances referred to as endocannabinoids. One of these is cannabidiol (CBD). CBD oil was given to 30 participants in a 2013 study, and it showed that it helped them successfully reduce the amount of cigarettes that they smoked by 40%. More studies have to be done to determine a direct correlation, but this is good news for those who are continuously struggling to find natural ways to quit.
"In 2013, a study published in the journal Addictive Behaviors found that smokers who were given a CBD inhaler reduced their cigarette consumption by around 40% compared to those given a placebo."

CBD 101: Everything You Need To Know About Giving Your Cat CBD
June 01, 2018 09:16 AM
Hemp, which hails from the genus cannabis, as does its far better known cousin marijuana, is distinct from marijuana for a variety of reasons, the most important undoubtedly being that the substance which makes marijuana a psychoactive substance, capable of producing its signature high' is all but missing in hemp. So, while both plants have components with healing properties, hemp offers users the benefits without the addictive component.
Today, these benefits are being actively pursued by pet owners and not just humans. In the case of cat-owners, CBD as an oil is the best way to administer CBD, although humans have the option of sprays and other means. This is because with oil the dose can be titrated over time, to ensure that the smallest health-giving dose is administered. The odds of any side effects of note are rare, but erring on the side of caution is best. For the sake of legality do make sure that the oil you are using is derived from phytocannabinoids hemp. Know that a reputable provider will make a lab report available too.
"Cannabidiol(CBD is found) in all cannabis plants. Both hemp and marijuana plants come from the genus Cannabis. Hemp has no THC unlike marijuana, and as such, it can’t get you high. Therefore, you should always get your CBD oil from hemp ensuring you never get your cat high unless it’s with catnip—that’s completely fine."

Is CBD Oil The Supplement That Your Workout Is Missing?
May 29, 2018 09:16 AM
Although hard evidence about the effects of cannabinoids like CBD is difficult to come by, our growing understanding of the body's natural endocannabinoid systems suggest that there is at least the potential for benefits from CBD for athletic performance. CBD, for example, may help boost the endocannabinoid system's suppression of pain and inflammation. However, it is also important to note that THC, the psychoactive ingredient in whole marijuana, appears to decrease long-range endurance. More research is sorely needed to understand just how CBD and other cannabinoid compounds impact athletic performance.
"Despite anecdotal evidence that CBD oil might help with athletic performance and recovery, there actually haven't been any clinical trials examining those effects, says Brook Henry, PhD, an assistant research scientist at the University of California, San Diego's Center for Medical Cannabis Research and department of psychiatry."

What You Should Know About CBD Oil
May 25, 2018 07:16 PM
All marijuana strands have two components within them: THC and CBD. THC is the component that has psychoactive effects on those who consume it, but CBD carries the benefits of marijuana without those psychoactive side effects. It has been shown to work well in epileptic patients, along with those who suffer from a long list of other medical ailments. Unfortunately, the tests done to prove these claims were all pre-clinical, which means they were not tested on humans instead of mice and test tubes.
"THC can affect the CB1 receptors, and it’s responsible for weed’s high. CBD is a little more complicated; it can affect both types of receptors, but often in indirect ways. The exact mechanisms aren’t fully understood."

Cannabinoid-Pharmaceutical Interactions: What You Need to Know
February 17, 2018 03:59 PM
With the regulatory environment shifting seemingly by the day across much of the U.S., many consumers are getting their first opportunities to consider the benefits of cannabinoids as a means of treating what ails them. However, like any medicines, there are interactions with other pharmaceuticals that need to be taken into consideration. Specifically, they can inhibit the reception and mechanisms of action of many common prescription drugs, including common opiate painkillers. In order to check side effects, it's best to keep a close eye on the literature and carefully research any possible interactions.

Epilepsy, Endocannabinoids and Phytocannabinoids
November 29, 2017 03:59 PM
Patients suffering from epilepsy have begun being treated with cannabis and its variant cannabinoids with some success. The concentrations for dosing vary by patient but some cannabinoids like THC, THCA and CBC have been used for epilepsy seizure treatments. However, in studies, whole plant use seems to be most effective since it contains more than 80 cannabinoids. There are receptors in the CNS for cannabinoids and there's also a specific uptake in the liver so although safe, it may compete with other medications.
"Cannabidiol and several other cannabis components can help patients with seizure disorders, and sometimes it's best to combine CBD with conventional anti-epileptic meds."

Tell Your Grandparents to Start Consuming Weed: 8 Reasons Why Seniors Should Use Cannabis ...
October 30, 2017 01:14 PM
It's easy for me to believe that the elderly would benefit from cannabis. Considering the plant is useful for pain management and arthritis pain. While i was in favor of the first point, I wasn't sure of what to think of point two. The usual stereotype for a cannabis user is dad bod at best.
I do wish there was more studies done on the benefits of cannabis over prescription pain relief for elderly. With America going through an opioid epidemic, you can see instant and prolonged benefit from this issue. Younger patients could be introduced to cannabis from a medical standpoint immediately, and not need opioids at age 11 for an appendix surgery.
Endocannabinoids are apparently good for bone strength. Which is great for the elderly.
Again, chronic pain is relieved by cannabis. Dementia can also be treated with cannabis. And can be prevented by smoking as an adult.
Enjoying life doesn't mean smoking cannabis, but smoking cannabis makes life enjoyable.

Could CBD oil be used for bone disorders ?
September 28, 2017 12:14 PM
Cannabidiol oil, or CBD oil, has the potential for use as a treatment of osteoarthritis, inflammatory joint pain, and other related joint pains. CBD is valuable in this regard because it has the potential to, by attaching to CBD1 and CBD2 receptors present in the joints of mammals, reduce the inflammation and pain that patients experience. However, there is still a need for more research. CBD is confirmed to have the potential to solve the issues of pain and inflammation suffered by those with OA, and possibly even prevent OA from developing at all, but as of yet there has been no testing of CBD as a treatment for OA and joint pain.
"In musculoskeletal disease models, systemic administration of CBD suppressed the progression of collagen-induced arthritis by reducing inflammatory cytokine production."

Natural cannabinoids from omega-3 fatty acids combat inflammation
July 24, 2017 12:14 PM
A medical news website reports that the body produces molecules that have the sane anti-inflammatory traits as marijuana. These molecules come from fatty acids found in meat and fish. These molecules are labeled as endocannabinoids, meaning they are naturally made within the body. An equation is included. The article explains how these molecules fight inflammation. They can also help with blood vessel issues. The article concludes with the hope that scientists can use this information to fight inflammation without using marijuana, which has mind altering qualities.

CBD has several therapeutic effects. Unlike THC, CBD has a less binding affinity to the CB1 and CB2, those are Cannabinoid receptors. Instead, CBD stimulates endogenous cannabinoid signal by suppressing enzyme fatty acid amide hydroxylase (FAAH). CBD helps in enhancing endocannabinoid by suppressing FAAH. CBD also opposes the action of THC at CB1 receptor, thus help to mute the effects of THC. CBD also stimulates 2-AG, that activates the CB1 and CB2 receptors, where CB2 receptors are predominant in the immune system and peripheral nervous system. It is found that CBD binds directly with 'G-protein' coupled receptors and other ion channels to grant therapeutic effect. CBD is also known as the TRPV-1 stimulant that helps, CBD-rich Cannabis in the effective treatment of the neuropathic pain.
