There are many things out there which are supposed to have medical benefits but which may or may not actually work. Some swear by gin soaked raisins as a source of alleviation of pain. Some others just like them. They just like the taste. This discusses whether or not they really work. Before trying this you should research it for yourself. Not everyone can handle alcohol and gin can be pretty strong. Quite a bit of it gets into the raisins when they are soaked.
"Using gin-soaked raisins for relieving arthritis pain was first popularized by the late radio celebrity Paul Harvey, who mentioned them on his show. Harvey spoke about the raisins in 1994. He noted that the practice of soaking raisins in gin for pain relief had been around for over twenty years at that time. Others state that the practice dates back even earlier than this."
