Subject: The Amazing Heart Health Benefits of Soluble Fiber

Most people know that fiber is important for maintaining a healthy digestive system. But did you know that soluble fiber can also have some pretty amazing benefits for your heart? Soluble fiber, which is found in abundance in psyllium seed husks, absorbs water in the intestines and forms a gel-like substance. This helps to reduce cholesterol levels and regulate blood sugar levels, both of which are important for maintaining a healthy heart. Let's take a closer look at how soluble fiber can benefit your heart health.

Reduces Cholesterol Levels

One of the main ways that soluble fiber benefits heart health is by reducing cholesterol levels. According to the American Heart Association, high cholesterol is a major risk factor for heart disease. When cholesterol builds up in the arteries, it can narrow them and cause them to harden. This puts you at risk for heart attack and stroke. Psyllium husks are especially effective at reducing LDL (bad) cholesterol levels while also increasing HDL (good) cholesterol levels. This helps to keep your arteries clear and reduce your risk for heart disease.

Regulates Blood Sugar Levels

Another way that soluble fiber benefits heart health is by regulating blood sugar levels. High blood sugar levels can damage the nerves and kidneys, and it can also increase your risk for heart disease. By helping to regulate blood sugar levels, soluble fiber can help reduce your risk for developing these problems. Psyllium husks are especially effective at this because they slow down digestion and help food to be absorbed more slowly into the bloodstream. This helps to prevent spikes in blood sugar levels after meals.

If you're looking for a simple way to improve your heart health, then look no further than soluble fiber! Soluble fiber, which is found in psyllium husks, can help reduce cholesterol levels and regulate blood sugar levels. This helps to keep your arteries clear and reduce your risk for heart disease. So next time you're at the store, be sure to pick up some psyllium husks so you can start reaping the amazing benefits of soluble fiber!

The Many Benefits of Chromium Amino Acid Chelate

Subject: The Many Benefits of Chromium Amino Acid Chelate

Though it may not be a household name, chromium is a essential trace mineral with a wide range of benefits. Perhaps most importantly, chromium helps to maintain normal blood sugar levels. Additionally, chromium supports cholesterol levels already in the normal range, and enhances the effectiveness of insulin. In other words, this essential mineral helps your body to burn glucose for fuel. With so many benefits, it's no wonder that chromium supplements are becoming increasingly popular. Read on to learn more about this essential mineral, and how it can improve your health.

What is Chromium?

As we mentioned above, chromium is a trace element, which means that our bodies require only very small amounts of it in order to function properly. Though we only need small amounts, chromium plays an important role in regulating blood sugar levels and supporting healthy cholesterol levels.

Chromium is found naturally in many foods, such as broccoli, grape juice, whole grains, potatoes, meat, and poultry. However, due to modern-day farming practices and processing methods, the level of chromium in these foods has decreased significantly over the years. This means that even if you're eating a healthy diet, you may not be getting enough chromium. And that's where supplements come in.

Benefits of Chromium Supplements

Chromium supplements are an easy and convenient way to make sure you're getting enough of this essential mineral. Chromium supplements have been shown to improve blood sugar control in people with diabetes, as well as reduce “bad” LDL cholesterol and triglyceride levels in people with high cholesterol.

Additionally, chromium supplements can help with weight loss by reducing food cravings and increasing feelings of fullness after meals. If you're struggling to lose weight or control your blood sugar levels, adding a chromium supplement to your daily routine may be just what you need.

In Summary:

Chromium is an essential trace element with many important health benefits. If you're not getting enough chromium from your diet, consider taking a supplement. Chromium supplements can help to regulate blood sugar levels and support healthy cholesterol levels. Additionally, they may also help with weight loss by reducing food cravings and increasing feelings of fullness after meals. Talk to your doctor about whether or not achromium supplement is right for you.

Boost Immunity with Beta Glucan

If you're looking for an immune support supplement that is effective and backed by science, look no further than NOW Beta-1, 3/1, 6-D-Glucan. This Immune Support Supplement is a bioactive carbohydrate derived from the cell wall of Saccharomyces cerevisiae, commonly known as Bakers' yeast. Scientific studies have shown that yeast-derived Beta-Glucan can interact with certain immune cells, including those present in the gut-associated lymphoid tissue (GALT). The GALT exists in the intestinal tract and is known to play a critical role in healthy immune system function. NOW Beta-Glucan is blended with Maitake Mushrooms for complementary support.

How NOW Beta Glucan Works

NOW Beta Glucan works by interacting with certain immune cells, including those present in the gut associated lymphoid tissue (GALT). The GALT exists in the intestinal tract and is responsible for a large portion of the body's immune response. When the body is exposed to a foreign substance, such as a virus or bacteria, the cells of the GALT produce antibodies which help to fight off the invader. In addition to producing antibodies, the cells of the GALT also secrete cytokines; these are signaling molecules that help to regulate the body's immune response. Studies have shown that Beta Glucan can help to modulate the activity of cytokines, which may help to promote a healthy immune response.*

The Benefits of NOW Beta Glucan

In addition to supporting a healthy immune system, NOW Beta Glucan has also been shown to have other potential health benefits. One study showed that Beta Glucan was able to decrease total cholesterol levels and LDL cholesterol levels in individuals with high cholesterol.* Another study showed that Beta Glucan was able to increase natural killer cell activity in healthy individuals.* Natural killer cells are a type of white blood cell that helps to protect the body against infection.*

If you're looking for an effective and science-backed Immune Support Supplement, look no further than NOW Beta 1, 3/1 ,6 -D -Glucan. This bioactive carbohydrate derived from yeast has been shown in scientific studies to interact with certain immune cells present in the gut associated lymphoid tissue (GALT). Turmeric and its much-lauded, health-giving component, curcumin, have had a health buzz about them for a long time. The health benefits to those that use turmeric and consequently curcumin, have long been noted. But, though its benefits for a wide array of bodily systems, including the cardiovascular, are not disputed, it has heretofore not been understood if turmeric, or more specifically curcumin, does some of its wonders by lowering lipid levels. The Second Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University has now performed a meta-analysis of available data, surrounding turmeric and curcumin, as a means of filling the knowledge gap. The researchers began by filtering the data, searching for studies revolving around turmeric, cholesterol and triglycerides. To ensure the data was all the more compelling and germane, the researchers trimmed down the parameters even more, allowing for only those tests that involved subjects laboring under the effects of metabolic syndrome or type 2 diabetes. In these cases possible negative effects to the heart would prove particularly relevant. The meta-analysis revealed that turmeric and curcumin had positive effects to impart on the levels of serum triglycerides apparent in its user-subjects. The two components also positively impacted the low-density lipo-protein cholesterol levels of the user-subjects. The researchers theorized that positive chemical activity was initiated by the components, thereby causing the beneficial aspects. Other cholesterol and lipid markers were not affected. In general, turmeric and curcumin have been shown to limit oxidative stress and inflammation as well as benefit the blood vessel lining, all of which can prevent a serious cardiac event.

Key Takeaways:

  • There are a lot of effective ways in which you can help lower your high cholesterol.
  • There are plenty of natural remedies out there that allow you to control your health.
  • These new substances are natural and have been proven to work on numerous different occasions.

"Turmeric and curcumin are two substances most known for their wide array of health benefits."

Subject: Insulin and disease

Many health problems, and especially cancer and heart disease are caused by an imbalance of insulin, due to poor diet. We eat far too much sugar and too many carbohydrates. This leads to insulin resistance, which, in turn, leads to heart disease, high triglycerides, high cholesterol, osteoporosis, and diabetes. It also raises blood pressure because when we are insulin resistant our bodies cannot store magnesium, which is needed to relax the walls of the blood vessels. Dr. Michael Cutler has written a book, "The Insulin Factor" which explains how to get your insulin back in balance, through diet. This will help us to live longer, healthier lives.

Key Takeaways:

  • Excessive eating disrupts the body’s metabolic system and produces conditions which can lead to cancer and cardiovascular disease
  • Insulin problems lay at the root of most serious health conditions, including cancer, diabetes, hypertension, and more.
  • Insulin problems are directly related to the problems associated with aging, and determine how our bodies age over time

"Centenarian studies show no health consistency at all except that all the centenarians have relatively low insulin (sugar) for their age and they all have low triglycerides for their age."

Subject: Toxins in Your Fast-Food Packaging?

Fast food isn’t exactly known for its health benefits, but a new U.S. study suggests even the packaging may be harmful. That’s because the study found one-third of fast food packaging contains chemicals that give it stain-resistant, water-repellant and nonstick properties. The trouble is these fluorinated chemicals have also been linked to an increased risk of certain cancers, hormone problems, high cholesterol, obesity and immune suppression in human and animal studies.

Key Takeaways:

  • Testing on more than 400 samples from restaurants nationwide revealed that nearly half of fast-food wrappers and one out of five paperboard food boxes contained detectable levels of fluorine, said lead researcher Laurel Schaider. She's an environmental chemist at the Silent Spring Institute in Newton, Mass.
  • Previous studies have linked some fluorinated chemicals such as perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and perfluorooctanesulfonic acid (PFOS) to kidney and testicular cancer, low birth weight, thyroid disease, decreased sperm quality, pregnancy-induced high blood pressure, and immune system problems in children, the study authors said in background notes.
  • Major U.S. manufacturers voluntarily phased out PFOA and PFOS for most uses starting in 2011, but other countries still produce them. These study results show that fluorinated chemicals are still widely present in food packaging, the authors said.

Subject: 'Red Yeast Rice' Statin Alternative Not Harmless Either, Study Says

If you suffer from high cholesterol, you are probably being prescribed a statin. Along with the effectiveness of statins to treat cholesterol issues, there is also the risk of side effects such as muscle and liver damage. For a while, red yeast rice has been recommended as a natural alternativeto prescribed statins. However, it has recently been found that this alternative choice can also increase muscle and liver injury. This is believed to be due to the fact that the active ingredient in each is monacolin K.

Key Takeaways:

  • Red yeast rice could increase risk of muscle injury or liver damage, Italian researchers reported after reviewing 13 years of patient data.
  • the compounds in red yeast rice -- monacolin K -- has the same chemical structure as the statin drug lovastatin [...] and cannot be sold legally as dietary supplements.
  • Reports of muscle pain came from 19 patients, including some who experienced an increase in levels of creatine phosphokinase [...] The products are not as well-controlled and the dosages are variable

Antibiotics are a great way to kil bacteria and cure a wide array of diseases or sicknesses. What happens sometimes though is antibiotics can create resistant bacteria. A new natural alternative may have been found. Manuka honey Showed in research to be better at killing bacteria than antibiotics. More research will need to be done.

Key Takeaways:

  • While the benefits of raw, unprocessed honey have been well-documented over the centuries, Australian researchers have found one type of honey, called Manuka honey, to be better than all known antibiotics.
  • According to Dr. Carter, there are particular compounds, like methylglyoxal, in the Manuka honey that cause multi-system failure in the bacteria, killing them before they are able to adapt and build up immunity.
  • Manuka honey is marketed for cancer treatment and prevention, high cholesterol, chronic inflammation, diabetes, the treatment of gastrointestinal problems, and eye, ear and sinus infections. However, it might be most useful in treating skin wounds and leg ulcers.

Subject: Avoid these 6 cholesterol mistakes for heart health

Having high cholesterol can lead to major problems. It is important to watch cholesterol levels and there are a few things you can do to limit the damage cholesterol can do. Exercising regularly and making sure you limit your alcohol intake are important steps to take to protect yourself from a heart attack or even a stroke.

Key Takeaways:

  • Our bodies need cholesterol, but too much can clog arteries and cause heart disease.
  • A healthy diet and regular exercise regimen can reduce cholesterol levels, but you have to pay attention to your fat, sugar and alcohol intake, too.
  • Controlling risk factors is an important way of preventing and managing heart disease, like high cholesterol.

""Alcohol should be consumed in moderation. Occasional drinks at a bar or cocktail party may not raise your LDL levels, but if these outings happen too frequently, it could spell trouble. Did you know that consuming large amounts of alcohol can lead to a stroke, heart failure and high blood pressure?""

Subject: For Cholesterol, Going Lower Clears Clogs

Amgen Inc. is the first pharmaceutical company to develop a drug that can help undo plaque buildup in arteries. When given along with cholesterol-lowering statins, Repatha has been shown to reduce the LDL in patients as low at 15. These levels are unheard of in patients with historically high cholesterol. The only issue is the cost. While statins are relatively cheap, Repatha costs roughly $14,000 a year and is not covered by prescription insurance. Hopefully, once the drug has gone through more trials, insurers will see its potential and cover some of the costs.

Key Takeaways:

  • For the first time, a new drug given along with a cholesterol-lowering statin medicine has proved able to shrink plaque that is clogging arteries, potentially giving a way to undo some of the damage of heart disease.
  • Too much cholesterol, along with other substances, can build up and form plaque in arteries.
  • Repatha costs $14,000 a year and insurers often won't pay.

"The drug, Amgen Inc.'s Repatha, also drove LDL, or bad cholesterol, down to levels rarely if ever seen in people before. Heart patients are told to aim for below 70, but some study participants got as low as 15."

Subject: The Health Benefits of Grape Seed Extract

Grape seed extract is most commonly a waste product produced by the grape juice and winery industry. This is because grape seed extract doesn't go into finished drinks. Grape seed contains a wide variety of health-enhancing ingredients like protein, carbohydrates and lipids (healthy fats).

Immune system

A study done on healthy volunteers found that grape seed considerably increased the levels of antioxidants in the blood. So, another one of the benefits of grape seed is it helps boosts the immune system to fight against harmful compounds which may reduce the risk of chronic diseases including breast, stomach, colon, prostate and lung cancer.

Vascular Endothelial Health

Grape seed extracts have been tied to the prevention of cardiovascular diseases partly due to the long association of grape wines with low prevalence of heart diseases among the French. Besides, there is a growing literature devoted to the health potential of grape seed concerning their positive effects on vascular endothelial growth factor, a type of protein that signals the development of new healthy blood vessels and improves the circulation of oxygen to tissues that suffer oxygen deprivation.

High Blood Pressure

Due to its antioxidant activity that may protect the blood vessels, grape seed extract could theoretically benefit people with high blood pressure. The UMMC points out that study in animals indicate that it's useful for this purpose. However, there are no human studies that have looked at grape seed extract's effect on hypertension.

High Cholesterol

The Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center states that one study suggests that grape seed, when taken with chromium, may lower "bad" blood cholesterol. The UMMC describes grape seed extract's effects on blood cholesterol as "promising"; however, more research is needed to see if grape seed is beneficial for this purpose.

Pancreas

In one study, patients with chronic inflammation of the pancreas (pancreatitis), grape seed extract showed promise. It appeared to significantly reduce the frequency and intensity of symptoms such as abdominal pain and nausea. This occurred even after conventional medications failed to help. These results are very preliminary and further studies will be needed to confirm these findings.

Subject: Clear heart blockages with this powerful lemon and garlic mixture

You or someone you know has been or will be affected by problems with their cholesterol. This is one of the leading causes of heart blockages but some simple remedies could help clear the passages and give you a more life to live, if you aren't a vampire!

Key Takeaways:

  • In the United States, high levels of LDL cholesterol – also known as "bad" cholesterol – remain a major risk factor for cardiovascular disease and stroke. To avoid these sticky cholesterol build-ups, millions of Americans resort to cholesterol-lowering drugs.
  • Unfortunately, most of these drugs come with a host of negative side-effects. Think of the whole statin debate that has been going on for quite a while now.
  • If you are one of the millions of people struggling with high cholesterol levels, regular exercise, eating a heart-healthy diet and losing weight are all it takes to lower them.

Subject: Can EDTA help my cardiovascular system

EDTA, also referred to as Calcium Disodimum Edathamil, is a synthetic amino acid used to treat a host of conditions including cardiovascular diseases. It can be administered intravenously, intramuscularly or orally.

Primary use: Detox Metals and Clean Veins

The hardening that occurs in our arteries, commonly known as atherosclerosis, contributes massively to poor cardiovascular health. This plaque buildup blocks your arteries causing diseases like high blood pressure, high cholesterol levels and heart attacks.

EDTA chelation therapy has been proven to effectively dissolve the plaque restoring the arteries to their previously clear state. The healthy arteries allow good blood flow eliminating cardiovascular diseases.

EDTA is also beneficial in lead poisoning treatment. It has the ability to bind itself to heavy metals like lead, arsenic and mercury in the bloodstream. EDTA treats heavy metal toxicity. It is also used in dentistry during root canals, as well as to remove excess digoxin (the drug used for abnormal heart rhythms) in the body.

Everybody should take EDTA once a year to maintain a health cardiovascular system.

How Does Omega-7 Help Promote Healthy HDL and LDL Cholesterol Levels?
TopPreviousNext

Date: July 28, 2015 03:23 AM
Author: Darrell Miller
Subject: How Does Omega-7 Help Promote Healthy HDL and LDL Cholesterol Levels?

Omega 7 fatty acids are an important natural enzyme that help in the development of vital organs. They are also essential for bodily functions and are vital in improving the cardiovascular system. Another little known fact about Omega 7s is that this fatty acid is very useful in controlling cholesterol levels.

So how do Omega 7s help with cholesterol?

  1. One of the major recent findings has been that Omega 7s play a big role in reducing LDL cholesterol and triglyceride levels. These are the main causes of high cholesterol. Omega 7 also promotes the production of healthy HDL cholesterol that boost the cardiovascular system. Fat in the liver is also decreased due to this while the body’s ability to handle blood sugar is improved significantly.
  2. Omega 7 has been shown to be a highly active fatty acid when it comes to regulating lipid metabolism. The palmitoleic acid present in Omega 7 helps in regulating insulin action and inhibiting production of SCD1.
  3. Another major cause of high cholesterol is the building up of plaque along the artery walls. Studies have shown that Omega 7 is very effective in inhibiting plaque formation that causes swelling of the arteries. Along with this, Omega 7’s ability to maintain optimum HDL cholesterol levels ensures a healthy cardiovascular system.
  4. Omega 7 has also been shown to greatly reduce the levels of C-reactive proteins in the body. These proteins are an inflammation marker and high levels are a sign of increased vulnerability to stroke and heart attacks.

Coronary Artery Plaque

As you can see, Omega 7 helps the body in a variety of ways and is highly beneficial in fighting high cholesterol, blood sugar, stroke, heart disease, cancer and diabetes. So what component of Omega 7 is actually responsible for these far reaching healing properties? It is the simple acid known as palmitoleic acid.

What is Palmitoleic Acid?

Palmitoleic acid is a monosaturated Omega 7 fatty acid. It acts as a signaling enzyme that helps in communication between fat and muscle tissues. This function is quite unique and it ensures that the body maintains optimum energy levels. It also plays an important part in effective storage of fat and muscles. Hence palmitoleic acid has far reaching consequences that are highly beneficial to the human body.

Regular consumption of Omega 7 acids reap a number of benefits.  They help the body in many ways.  It is also one of the best options to fight high cholesterol and inflammation.
