Curcumin and Grapeseed
September 01, 2020 11:03 AM
Smoking, Chemical exposure, pesticides, nutrient deficiencies, to much sun exposure, and over the counter drugs and prescriptions can cause cancer. In the news, there are forever chemical roundup found in our water supply, it is no wonder we are laden with cancer as a society.
Fortunately, a healthy cancer preventing diet along with natural plant compounds can be far more effective and cost a lot less than conventional care alone.
Two top suggested natural medicines available right now are curcumin and grape seed extract. These two herbs are an amazing pair, curcumin is a fat soluble herb to fight oxidation on the fatty oil side in the body and grape seed extract is water soluble, making it a great antioxidant to fight oxidative stress on the water side of a cell. Cells in the body are made up of oil(fats) and water. The impact of both together on your health is virtually miraculous.
Curcumin neutralizes unstable free radicals that take electrons from nearby molecules, and stop them from creating a cascade of damaged cells. It also reduces inflammation reduces inflammation markers in the body to prevent prevent tissue degradation.
Curcumin has been shown to stop the changes that happen from free radical damage causing normal cells to become cancerous, and tumorous formations, and can even stop cancer from metastasizing or migrating to other parts of the body. Published studies anticancer activity have found that it can suppress breast, prostate, liver, skin, colon and lung cancer cells.
Curcumin Must Be Absorbed To Be Useful
One of the challenges or using curcumin for cancer prevention and treatment is that not all curcumin extracts are easily absorbable into the body. Blending curcumin in Turmeric essential oil enhances absorption and provides the additional benefits of ar-turmerone, a compound in the oil.
Curcumin Makes Chemo More Effective
There is big potential for curcumin when used with conventional treatment. BCM-95 curcumin, through research, has shown to sensitize human colon cancer cells to chemotherapy treatment where it would otherwise be resistant to this form of treatment. In some cases tumor recurrence rates can be as high as 60% but when treated with curcumin while under conventional treatment, curcumin boosted the effectiveness of the chemo drug 5-fluorouracil against cancer stem cells.
Curcumin has great potential in conjunction with conventional cancer treatment and recovery. It has been found that as chemo treatment progresses, cancer cells become resistant to the chemo treatment and the dosage has to be increased as the treatment continues increasing the toxic side effects. Fortunately, curcumin taken in conjunction with conventional cancer treatment can improve the effectiveness of chemo and so the dosage can be lowered reducing the toxic side effects for individuals. This is good news!
Curcumin Protects The Body During Cancer Treatment
In a clinical study with curcumin, it showed to alleviate side effects of one of the most common treatments of prostate cancer known as external beam radiotherapy (EBRT) where the doctor uses radiation to destroy tumorous cancel cells. This sort of therapy has many side effects making it a difficult therapy for most men. I often causes sexual dysfunction, digestive problems, urinary tract pain and loss of control. The higher the radiation dosage the more effective the treatment is but this causes significant discomfort, that is why most doctors lean towards lower dosages which makes the treatment less effective.
The clinical study administered 3000mg of BCM-95 curcumin that is 1000mg x 3 per day or a placebo one week before therapy started and during the treatment length. Each capsule of curcumin contained curcuminoids, curcumin, demethoxycurcumin, bisdemethoxycurcumin, and essential oil of turmeric, this is a full spectrum curcumin supplement.
At the end of the treatment which lasted 20 weeks the most dramatic difference between the two groups in the study was urinary symptoms. The curcumin group said a 50% decrease in symptoms or side effects of the radiation. Also, researchers noted that the curcumin did not reduce the efficacy of the EBRT.

Here is why cannabis oil is being used more and more in beauty products
May 08, 2019 03:52 PM
Cannabis oil is increasingly being used in health products. Political decisions have made it easier to research cannabis. Cannabidiol, or CBD, is a non-psychoactive drug that is found in the cannabis plant with only a little amount of THC, which is the ingredient that is known to make people high in marijuana. Studies have shown that CBD can actually help those dealing with acne, psoriasis, dermatitis, and dry skin due to it's ability to lessen sebum production.
"“Cannabis, which until not too long ago was taboo, has now started to emerge as a significant element in the medical and wellness sectors,” says Hugh Winters, CEO of Australian skincare company MGC Derma."

This hemp variety from Finland exhibits significant antioxidant properties thanks to its high flavonoid content
May 07, 2019 04:15 PM
According to a study published in Phytotherapy Research, Cannabis sativa L., otherwise known as the hemp plant, has a wide variety of health benefits. Because it is high in antioxidants, it offers significant protection from heart disease, diabetes, and cancer. Furthermore, the hempseed is very high in omega-3 and omega-6 essential fatty acids, which make it beneficial for the skin, heart, and joints. Hemp is often mistakenly confused with marijuana. While both plants contain Cannabis sativa, hemp does not have any THC, which is the psychoactive ingredient in marijuana that causes a "high". Hemp is also packed with beneficial nutrients and supports optimal brain and GI health.
"In the study, the researchers attribute this biological effect to the presence of flavonoid compounds in hempseed oil, which include flavanones, flavonols, flavanols, and isoflavones."

Curcumin performs BETTER than drugs and surgery at treating spinal cord injuries review?
May 06, 2019 03:32 PM
Recent research published in Neurology Research International has yielded indications that curcumin, the active ingredient in turmeric, may be even better than corticosteroids in treating spinal injuries. Curcumin can help fight both primary and secondary inflammation, and may have other benefits as well. For example, it appears to help stimulate stem cells and promote neural progenitor cell growth, both of which are crucial for healing. This is just the latest in a long line of research demonstrating the broad-spectrum health benefits of turmeric.
"The researchers found that in all studies comparing the two, curcumin outperformed corticosteroids every time."

How Does Excess Sugar Affect The Brain?
May 03, 2019 04:21 PM
Excess sugar intake is unambiguously harmful to the body and the brain. In addition to widely understood risks like diabetes and obesity, elevated blood sugar can produce anxiety and interfere with emotions and mood. Eating too much sugar can also impact your brain’s reward-response system in ways that make you hungrier and more prone to overeating. High blood sugar can also constrict blood vessels, contributing to impaired cognitive functioning. Eating more fresh fruit as a substitute for added sugar and DRINKING more water can help reduce sugar levels in the brain.

Is vitamin D a key factor in breast cancer prevention?
May 03, 2019 04:11 PM
CDC data shows that nearly 41,000 American women died of breast cancer in 2013 alone, making it a leading causing of death among women from all racial groups. However, research indicates a strong association between living in a place with lots of sunshine and lower risk of breast cancer. This is almost certainly due to sunlight’s role in production of vitamin D. Only the type of vitamin D produced by the skin from sun exposure seems to have this kind of strong impact on breast cancer rates.
"In fact, breast cancer is the leading cause of death among Hispanic American women, and the second highest cause among white, black and Asian/Pacific women."

Study: Taking protein supplements before going to the gym can leadto improved post-workout burn
May 03, 2019 04:08 PM
Recent research published in the Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition indicates that taking your protein supplement before working out can help increase your body’s fat oxidation. In a study of 11 college-aged males who took either whey or casein protein supplements prior to moderate exercise, it was found that both post-exercise fat oxidation and post-exercise energy consumption improved. Casein has more of an impact in this study than whey. This strongly suggests you should take your protein supplement before exercising.
"Published in the Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition, the study looked at the effect of taking protein supplements before exercise on fat oxidation and energy expenditure during and after a bout of moderate-intensity exercise. Previous research has shown that pre-exercise protein consumption may promote fat oxidation, at the same time, minimize protein degradation during exercise."

Comparing the effects of turmeric and turmeric-containing herbal tablets on skin barrier function
May 03, 2019 03:55 PM
A team from the University California, Davis recently completed a study to see what impact turmeric-containing herbal supplements have on sebum production or transepidermal water loss, and to compare this with the effects of pure turmeric supplements. The 28 volunteers who completed the full test took the turmeric-containing herbal supplement, a supplement with only turmeric, or a placebo for four weeks. While none of the treatments impacted sebum production of the skin, the turmeric-containing supplement did reduce transepidermal water loss, which suggests that it improves the skin’s barrier function.
"A study published in the Journal of Medicinal Food reported that turmeric-containing herbal supplements can be used to improve skin barrier function."

Study: PQQ (pyrroloquinoline quinone) may prevent and even reverseAlzheimer's
January 04, 2019 08:12 AM
Pyrroloquinoline quinone (PPQ) is a microbe that is derived from plants, and it is showing to have neurological benefits that are associated with the prevention of Alzheimer's progression. This particular microbe is able to reduce inflammation in the brain, which can lead to several neurological conditions. It also helps patients in post-stroke recovery because it is able to reduce the area of the brain that is impacted by stroke activity. Most importantly, it helps in the prevention of Alzheimer's due to how it can neutralize levels of oxidative stress.
"Glutamate is an important chemical in the brain, but too much of it results in excitotoxicity, a risk factor in both stroke and neurodegenerative disease. PQQ protects the brain from overstimulation by glutamate and the resulting death of brain cells."

Cannabis kills cancer cells
January 03, 2019 11:28 AM
Reputable medical sources such as the British Journal of Pharmacology are finding that cannabis has a direct impact on treating cancer by targeting it from several areas. Although more and more of these studies are being published, it still isn't enough for the medical community to hold the claims above traditional treatments such as chemotherapy that can take a huge toll on the body. This is due to a huge lack of funding when it comes to the anti-cancer effects of cannabis.
"The big scientific news, however, is that the most researched active cannabis constituents, THC and CBD, have been found to also kill cancer cells."

Compelling study confirms the therapeutic effects of curcumin inremoving fluoride from our bodies
December 03, 2018 02:03 PM
According to statistics recently released by the CDC, 66.3% of U.S. citizens are being exposed to fluoride poisoning through the country's public water supplies. The good news is that a study in Pharmacognosy Magazine points to curcumin as a natural solution to this growing problem. According to this Indian study, curcumin can protect our brains from fluoride poisoning. If you cannot afford to install a whole-house water filter in your home, curcumin may be a safe and affordable option to protect your family from the dangerous neurological effects of fluoride.
"The researchers looked specifically at fluoride-induced toxicity on the mice’s brains, including the chemical’s impact on lipid peroxidation, or rancidity, in brain tissue. They also evaluated markers of malondialdehyde, or MDA, a well-known marker of oxidative stress and oxidative damage, in the brains of mice from each test group."

This is what happens with your lungs when you diffuse essentialoils
November 29, 2018 12:32 PM
Your lungs are the key to maintaining a positive breathing tunnel in your body. Making sure your body gets enough oxygen at every minute of the day is obviously very important. Some people abuse their lungs to a point where it is very hard for them to be healthy from that point on. As a result, there are a ton of people who suffer from asthma. It is a disease that there is no cure for but there are some oils that can help treat it.
"Peppermint essential oil has decongestant and antihistamine properties that relieve asthma attacks. Exposure to allergens such as dust mites and pollen trigger your body to release histamines, which in turn trigger asthma attacks."

Another study finds turmeric and curcumin to be a safe, effectivetreatment for lowering cholesterol and protecting the heart
November 19, 2018 09:36 AM
Turmeric and its much-lauded, health-giving component, curcumin, have had a health buzz about them for a long time. The health benefits to those that use turmeric and consequently curcumin, have long been noted. But, though its benefits for a wide array of bodily systems, including the cardiovascular, are not disputed, it has heretofore not been understood if turmeric, or more specifically curcumin, does some of its wonders by lowering lipid levels. The Second Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University has now performed a meta-analysis of available data, surrounding turmeric and curcumin, as a means of filling the knowledge gap. The researchers began by filtering the data, searching for studies revolving around turmeric, cholesterol and triglycerides. To ensure the data was all the more compelling and germane, the researchers trimmed down the parameters even more, allowing for only those tests that involved subjects laboring under the effects of metabolic syndrome or type 2 diabetes. In these cases possible negative effects to the heart would prove particularly relevant. The meta-analysis revealed that turmeric and curcumin had positive effects to impart on the levels of serum triglycerides apparent in its user-subjects. The two components also positively impacted the low-density lipo-protein cholesterol levels of the user-subjects. The researchers theorized that positive chemical activity was initiated by the components, thereby causing the beneficial aspects. Other cholesterol and lipid markers were not affected. In general, turmeric and curcumin have been shown to limit oxidative stress and inflammation as well as benefit the blood vessel lining, all of which can prevent a serious cardiac event.
"Turmeric and curcumin are two substances most known for their wide array of health benefits."

Bifidobacterium Lactis: The Bacterium That Could Help You LoseWeight & Fight Inflammation
October 10, 2018 03:26 PM
The probiotic Bifidobacterium lactis, or B. lactis, is a powerhouse for gut health. Why is this strain of bacteria so important? One study published in 2015 showed that B. lactis could improve unpleasant and painful symptoms associated with poor gut motility, dysbiosis, and GI hypersensitivity. B. lactis is definitely one of the “good guys” of the gut bacteria world because it contributes to a healthy and balanced microbiome, which positively affects balanced blood sugar and optimal weight maintenance.
"A particular strain of B. lactis, known as HN019, has been shown to have a significant impact on those with metabolic syndrome. This probiotic had beneficial effects on inflammation, nitric oxide metabolites, and antioxidant measurements, and the authors of the study stated that if their results are confirmed, supplementation with this probiotic should be considered further."

Higher omega-3s status linked to less depression in population withheart failure
September 20, 2018 05:11 PM
A recent American College of Cardiology study of 108 chronic heart failure patients noted that patients with higher omega-3 index levels as a result of oral supplementation appear to suffer less from depression than the control group. Roughly 20 percent of chronic heart failure patients become clinically depressed. The promising results suggest that increased omega-3 index levels may result in better social functioning and reduced cognitive symptoms of depression as measured by the widely-used Hamilton Depression Scale. More research is needed, however, to better understand the impact of omega-3 indexes on depression.
"A recent pilot study has linked a higher Omega 3 Index with lessened symptoms of depression in a cohort of subjects suffering from chronic heart failure."
