Subject: Study identifies a natural preservative in the arjun tree

Terminalia arjuna has been studied closely by researchers from India and New Zealand. Commonly known as the arjun tree, this plant was used on chevon sausages to test the properties of preservation. The study suggest that the it produced significantly lower values for total plate count, psychrophilic count, yeast and mold count, and free fatty acid values. The results showed an improved lipid oxidative stability and storage quality while refrigerated, thus suggesting that the arjun tree can be a novel natural meat preservative.

Key Takeaways:

  • Chevon sausages were used as a model in the research and the researchers used various sorts of Terminalia arjuna extracts some in 0.25, 0.50, and 0.75 percent.
  • When the extracts were examined under refrigerated conditions, they looked at the effects on lipid oxidative stability and storage quality parameters.
  • There were lower values in total that were noted during the study for total plate count, psychrophilic count, counts of yeast and mold, and free fatty acid values.

"Researchers from India and New Zealand explore the potential of Terminalia arjuna as a novel natural preservative in meat products."

In today's health world, the agenda has been hydration, drink more water. While minerals and different things have been added to commercially sold water to enhance flavor, little of it if any helps with health issues. Latest trends have been for people to add their own things, such as whole berries, citrus fruit slices or cucumber. But there is a value to spice, and ginger is gold. Ginger has anti inflammatory properties that can help relieve symptoms of swelling and gout in joints, but so much more. Ginger water can soothe an upset stomach, help balance blood sugars, relieve menstrual cramps, and even help fight off several chronic diseases.

Key Takeaways:

  • To gain more from the benefits that this spice can give, one should drink plain ginger water because adding artificial sweeteners can result in bloating.
  • It has been found that consuming ginger can help improve blood sugar. A study found that it helped diabetic patients with their glycemic indices.
  • Ginger can help patients with chemotherapy because it eases morning sickness and nausea that might be caused by having chemotherapy.

Subject: The Best Keto Fiber Foods & Why You Need Them

The Keto diet is well-known for emphasizing the value of healthy fats, but that doesn't mean it neglects the importance of fiber. It is not uncommon for those transitioning to the low-carb, high fat Keto diet to experience problems with digestion. The solution is to consume high fiber foods that keep you in a state of ketosis. These include non-starchy vegetables (e.g., cabbage and asparagus) as well as seeds and nuts. Keto fiber supplements - such as Gum arabic and Chia seeds - can also serve to maintain digestive regularity.

Key Takeaways:

  • Avocado is full of both healthy fats and dietary fiber, making it a valuable staple for people on keto diets.
  • Non-starchy vegetables like cabbage, broccoli, Brussels sprouts and zucchini can provide lots of fiber, vitamins and antioxidants.
  • When eaten in moderation, high-fiber nuts like pistachios, walnuts, almonds and hazelnuts can provide fiber and nutrients and help digestion.

"Eighty percent of your total daily calories should be coming from foods like olive oil, coconut oil, grass-fed butter, nuts and seeds."

Subject: Bee pollen proven to be a "treasure trove of active naturalmetabolites" that benefit human health

The tiny balls of pollen that bees harvest from vegetation is known as bee pollen. Many people assume that allergies associated with bee pollen are fairly high, but research is showing this pollen can actually act as an antihistamine. Only two people in a six-year time period were shown to have genuine bee pollen allergies. On the other hand, the histamine reduction properties located within bee pollen have proven to be successful in reducing the risk of allergic reactions to other substances.

Key Takeaways:

  • The tiny balls of pollen that are harvested by bees is what is referred to as be pollen.
  • Only three actual cases of bee pollen allergies were recorded within a six-year time span.
  • Bee pollen actually reduces the presence of histamines within the system, making it somewhat of an anti-allergen.

"The ancient Greeks, Egyptians and Chinese all recognized the value of honey and bee pollen in medicine."

Subject: Scientists discover the potential use of papaya leaf juice fortreating dengue

Dengue is an infection of the immune system that lowers platelet counts in the blood, causing a variety of issues, including clotting disorders and anemia due to the viral born illness. Papaya leaf juice has immune boosting properties, one of which is it encourages platelet production. It is also used to help treat jaundice and other liver related diseases due to its detoxification value. Papaya leaf juice can also aid in digestion, lower cholesterol, lower and help maintain blood insulin levels, and finally , due to its high vitamin A and C levels, improve skin appearance and health.

Key Takeaways:

  • Dengue is a disease borne by a virus and it affects millions of people worldwide, especially people in tropical countries like the Philippines.
  • Dengue infections can be mild and last only a week. But it can also be severe that leads to severe bleeding and reduction in the count of platelets.
  • Papaya leaves have been used for treating dengue in many practices because it can help to increase the platelet count and prevent liver damage arising from the virus.

"A recent study by researchers from Jamia Hamdard University in India revealed that extracts from papaya leaves have potential use as a natural remedy for dengue since they exhibit immunomodulatory activity and promote the production of thrombocytes, also called platelets."

Terpenes is a compound found in citrus fruits, rosemary, frankincense, and cannabis. Because it includes many compounds including THC, ketones, esters, lactones, and THC not found together in the same rate in other plants, it is a better health treatment than anything created by the pharmacy companies. Terpenes also has limonene and pinene, which help with anti-inflammation in healing cancers, and reducing stress. Joy Smith shares a story of having cancer, trying chemotherapy and being given just weeks to live, but attributes cannabis oil to saving her.

Key Takeaways:

  • Many people feel as if there is a stigma that comes with cannabis and it is not a good one.
  • Any type of compound that can help cure cancer is something that is really valuable for the masses.
  • Natural remedies are becoming more and more prevalent in the medicinal world as doctors realize some are useful.

"Medical marijuana is a booming industry, and the use value of cannabis just continues to expand as we learn more about this heavily prohibited, but clearly medicinal, plant."

Subject: Herbal additives such as cumin oil found to increase shelf life offresh fish fillets

Fish is a popular edible. In fact the Food and Agricultural Organization estimates that fish eaters consume up to 163 million tons of the aquatic protein every year. That's a lot of fish to freeze. And, unfortunately, more so than is the case with other popular proteins, fish spoils easily, even when kept on ice. Adding a natural antimicrobial agent, such as the common kitchen spice, black cumin, could be an inexpensive and economy-boosting way to extend the shelf life of vulnerable fish. This premise has actually been tested and proven by researchers at the Firat University in Turkey, where a study that utilized black cumin oil to extend the life of fish fillets proved entirely successful. The study showed that no negative side effects endured from the process. In addition to improving the safety of fish, the researchers noted that the process was environmentally sound as well, as it required less energy.

Key Takeaways:

  • Researchers from the Turkish University, Firat University, have uncovered a use for the common kitchen spice, black cumin, that does not involve direct human consumption.
  • The Food and Agricultural Organization has noted that up to 163 tons of fish are consumed per year, even though the protein is very prone to spoilage, even when refrigerated.
  • The use of a natural antimicrobial agent, such as black cumin, promotes food safety, lowers energy cost and ups the value of the fish.

"The use of natural antimicrobials such as organic acids, essential oils, plant extracts, and bacteriocins could be good alternatives to ensure food safety."

One of the most precious spices in the world, saffron can be used as an alternative cancer treatment

Saffron is not only a tasty spice highly valued to culinary chefs, but it also has anti-cancer properties, according to a recently published article. Not only does saffron kill cancerous cells, but it is also selective in which cells it kills, meaning it doesn't harm non-cancerous cells. Saffron, although expensive, also has many other benefits. It can fight depression, improve skin, balance hormones, combat stomach pain, and even give sexual activity a boost. Saffron is a highly valued spice for good reason due to it's contributions to overall health.

Key Takeaways:

  • A review of dozens of relevant papers conducted by the Journal of Nutrition and Intermediary Metabolism suggests that saffron has substantial anti-cancer potential.
  • Saffron is a costly and hard-to-produce spice derived from the saffron crocus flower, with 1,000 handpicked flowers needed to produce an ounce.
  • In addition to its potential tumorcidal properties, saffron can help soothe stomach pain, balance hormones and boos mental and dermatological health.

"What’s more, these compounds display selective toxicity against cells; that is, they ultimately kill cancer varieties without harming normal ones."

Scientists study the neuroprotective effects of fermented Curcuma longa L. (turmeric)

A recent Kristina University study suggests that fermented turmeric may help protect brain cells from being degraded by inflammation and oxidative stress. The same researchers found that fermented turmeric may also help protect against the impact of the amnesiac compound scopolamine. Researchers subjected scopolamine-treated mice to mazes and inflicted oxidative stress on rat brain cells to test whether fermented turmeric offered any protection. Preliminary results suggest that fermented turmeric could have value as an alternative or complementary treatment for neurodegenerative diseases symptoms.

Key Takeaways:

  • Recent research has shown that fermented turmeric may be beneficial to the brain.
  • Fermented turmeric has displayed properties that aid with memory conditions like Alzheimer's.
  • Turmeric may also protect cells more generally from inflammation and other stress.

"It could serve as an alternative or complementary therapy for age-induced neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s disease."

Finger millet is a nutritional powerhouse: A review of the nutrients it offers

Millet tends to get short shrift in the US, since it’s grown mostly in semi-arid Asian and African climes, but it’s very nutritious, especially the variety known as finger millet. Finger millet’s five layer seed coat (called the testa) is rich in a variety of micro and macro nutrients, amino acids, dietary fiber, protein and phenols. Finger millet shows promise for the management of diabetes and conditions associated with high cholesterol. It has a remarkable ability to lower blood sugar. Most of the nutritional value is in the seed coat/testa, so always get the whole grain variety!

Key Takeaways:

  • Finger millet testa has 18 percent dietary fiber and assorted varieties of macronutrients and micronutrients.
  • Finger millet contains essential and conditionally essential amino acids like Arginine, Cystine and Valine.
  • The high amounts of phenolic compounds and dietary fiber content of finger millet makes it ideal for diabetics and pre-diabetics.

"While millet may not be as popular as other types of cereals, researchers from the G. B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology have argued that it deserves more recognition because it is a nutritional powerhouse."

Make an INFORMED decision: Everything you need to know about colloidal silver

There is a rich history that goes back for centuries, associating the use of colloidal silver with the treatment of wounds and various illnesses. Today, the FDA does not acknowledge the use of colloidal silver as medicinal, calling assertions by practitioners and users as "unfounded."

Nonetheless, many practitioners and users have found the substance to be of high value, particularly in the treatment of wounds, burns, cuts and infections. Colloidal silver is deemed to be both antiseptic and antimicrobial. Neither is colloidal silver associated with any serious side effects, save one. Unfortunately, the 'one' is a doozy and responsible for much of the foot-dragging, when it comes to accepting colloidal silver.

It seems that it is possible to have the skin turn blue, a condition called, "argyria," with the taking in of too much colloidal silver. However, although the condition is real and not reversible, it is also highly unlikely, considering the normal dose users ingest of colloidal silver is one teaspoon and that dose would have to go up to 48 teaspoons every day, for an entire year to possibly have enough in the system to develop argyria.

Key Takeaways:

  • Colloidal silver has a long, rich history as a treatment for wounds, burns, cuts, sprains and infections.
  • Colloidal silver's benefits, which have been observed by both practitioners and users, are undoubtedly the result of its being both antiseptic and antimicrobial.
  • The normal recommended dose used by those that ingest colloidal silver is one single teaspoon, which is far to small an amount to develop argyria, a rare side effect.

"There are are a number of misconceptions about colloidal silver being spread around as “truth,” while the facts regarding its uses and benefits are being obscured — as is the case for so many alternative treatments these days."

However, Britain's governing bodies have said that should this happen it is not to be understood that legalization of marijuana for the purposes of recreation will follow. Uruguay was the first country to make the growing, marketing, supplying and use of marijuana completely legal. Canada is slated to become country number two.

Subject: Chlorella supplementation 'more effective in unhealthy subjects,' researchers say

This is interesting research on chlorella supplementation. It actually turns out that unhealthy subjects responded better to it than healthier ones. This is probably due to the fact that their health was so much in need of improvement. There need to be more studies on this subject now because we need to know which health conditions would respond the best to it. Scientific studies do well when they have a diverse group of test subjects with different conditions.

Key Takeaways:

  • Taking the supplement Chlorella has been shown to have benefits on health, seemingly more so on sick and/or malnourished individuals.
  • Chlorella has a type of fiber that binds to fat and as such lowers the absorption of Cholesterol.
  • Just because there appears to be benefits, researchers haven't concluded if Chlorella is the sole cause, but it looks good.

"Consuming chlorella as a supplement improved levels of total cholesterol, systolic blood pressure, and other indicators of cardiovascular disease risk—but may be a better value to unhealthy populations, according to a new meta-analysis."

Xlogucans are indigestible sugars, located on the cell walls of cranberries. Scientists now know, that while void of nutritive value for their human ingestor, xlogucans are nonetheless of high value to certain strains of bacteria found inside the intestinal walls of those human ingestors. These strains of bacteria are beneficial because they promote metabolic processes, which in turn produce energy for human hosts. When these bacteria multiply, the event is inherently valuable to the human organism in which the bacteria reside. This multiplication occurs when the bacteria feed off these specific sugars, found in cranberries. Data, which shows that xlogucans are broken down in the gut and absorbed by beneficial bacteria, which may in turn break down the already broken down compounds of xlogucan even further, in order to benefit other useful forms of bacteria, may prove to be of value in the development of new and better probiotics.

In an exciting new study soon to be published in the Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease titled, “Coconut Oil Attenuates the Effects of Amyloid-ß on Cortical Neurons In Vitro.”, researchers found that adding coconut oil can have positive effects on the brain soon after it's ingested, helping to heal the brain of what is known as "type 3 diabetes". Researchers believe coconut oil shows great promise in helping extend the brain functions of Alzheimer's patients and warrants more research.

Key Takeaways:

  • Neuron cells from rats were exposed to the peptides that are found to cause Alzheimer's Disease and coconut oil. Results show that coconut oil may act as a neuroprotective against Alzheimer's.
  • Research shows that the chemical compounds found in coconut oil may act as an energy source for neurons battling Alzheimer peptides.
  • Some argue that food as medicine should be a doctrine that is further explored. Because walnuts and coconuts contains fatty acids that feed the brain and resemble the brain as well.

"Could the poetry of our direct experience tell us something about the value this food has to our brain"

Subject: THE CANCER WILL DISAPPEAR IF YOU DRINK THIS WATER EVERY DAY!

It's known to the medical community that changing your body chemistry from acidic to alkaline eliminates cancer. Diet in the west causes increased acidity and adds to many health risks. By drinking water with a higher, more alkaline pH you can bring your body into a more alkaline state. A mixture of lemon and salt dissolved in the water creates a more beneficial pH than water alone. This can be done easily at home as shown in the video.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n0vOKsg1zmg&rel=0

Key Takeaways:

  • The medical community has determined that cancer thrives in a highly acidic environment. If we create an alkaline environment it will eliminate the cancer.
  • The alkaline water can be created at home by combining 2 liters of water, 1 lemon, and 1 tablespoon of Himalayan salt.
  • Normal water has a PH of 7 and alkaline water has a PH or 8 or 9.

"The medical community has agreed on the fact that cancer thrives in an acidic environment, and creating an alkaline environment within your body with a pH value of 7.36 or more will eliminate it. Unfortunately, the western diet makes our bodies highly acidic and increases the risk of cancer and other diseases."
