Baby Constipation Ease by Mommy's Bliss
Changes to your baby’s diet and routine can lead to occasional constipation. Introducing formula to a previously breast fed baby, adding solid foods, changes in feeding habits and intervals, dehydration, some medications, and changes to your baby’s activity and sleep routines can all lead to occasional constipation.
Babies will have from one to six bowel movements per day. As solid foods are added to the diet, bowel movements become less frequent, but most commonly occur daily. Generally, so long as the stool remains soft and occurs at least once every 3-5 days, then your baby is likely not constipated. If stool is hard, pebble like or baby cries during bowel movement then your baby may be constipated. If you are unsure if your baby is constipated or has more than mild occasional constipation, then talk to your doctor.
