Subject: Is Hemp the New Superfood?
With marijuana taking a center stage, hemp is also under greater scrutiny. Australia in particular is interested in doing more with the plant. It is legal to grow the plant in Australia, but not to consume it. However, some studies are showing that hemp seeds may be the next superfood. It has been shown to have almost as much protein as soya beans, while being more digestible. This plant is also easily grown and sustainable. There is currently a proposal to change the law forbidding the consumption of the product.
- Hemp is currently used in the production of many different types of products.
- Industrial hemp - specifically hemp seeds - is being heralded as one of the next superfoods.
- hemp is also extremely eco friendly and sustainable to farm.
"If approved, the proposal will mean that hemp seeds can be used in the production of food products such as flour, oil and protein powder as well as sold as and consumed as a raw product"
