Subject: Obesity crisis
Obesity has become a global crisis with at least 50% of the global population categorized as being an unhealthy weight. In the US 30% of the population is deemed obese. The author is partly attributing this to the increase in the export/import of cheap, high calorie foods such as oils and fats. Although a healthy diet should include some fats, many diets have way too much. The author also states that while poor countries still face underweight issues and starvation, the wealthier countries' populations can choose nutrient rich foods but often don't.
