Subject: Virginia bill passes allowing individuals to grow hemp
West Virginia recently passed a law allowing licensed individuals to grow hemp to be used in manufacturing. House Bill 2453 expands the list of individuals who can grow hemp to those who have already completed an application. Hemp does not possess the levels of THC marijuana does. Hemp is used worldwide in a variety of products such as clothing and health foods. Kentucky also approved the expansion of hemp growing. The hope is to diversify the economy.
