There are foods that can harm both your memory and ability to learn. The biggest offender is fructose, not only can it harm your brain but it can cause insulin resistance and increase belly fat. Fruits contain fructose but are high in fiber and can be eaten in small amounts. Trans fats can cause harmful inflammation. Mercury found in some foods can cause memory loss. Wheat-based gluten products can be addictive and cause your brain to crave more, causing weight gain. Fortunately turmeric for fighting inflammation and foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids can counteract these damaging foods.
