A new research study from Boston University finds support for the claim that high fiber diets may help individuals avoid arthritis and more specifically knee osteoarthritis. While the benefits of an increased fiber intake seem to have been cemented, the exact reasons why fiber helps to prevent arthritis remains murky. Lead author of the new study, Zhaoli Dai suggests increased fiber intake may help as much as other treatments, but for a considerably cheaper cost.
