The potato diet is a diet created by a man named Andrew Taylor, who claims he lost 50 kg in one year eating nothing but potatoes. He also claims the diet helped with his anxiety and depression. Nutritionists dispute the validity of this diet though, since only eating one food long term can lead to a shortage of certain vitamins. The diet is especially harmful for women, since potatoes along don't provide enough iron that a woman needs. While still not recommended, adding sweet potatoes to the diet makes it somewhat more well-balanced.
