Sleeping on your left side is considered the most advantageous sleeping position due to the fact that it allows toxins and excess fluids to be removed from your body more easily. Other positions such as sleeping on your right side and sleeping on your back can also be beneficial but to a lesser extent. Sleeping either on your stomach or in a fetal position would rate as the least advantageous sleeping positions for several reasons including the strain each of those positions puts on your back.
