Manganese (Trace Mineral)
Only trace amounts required for blood sugar regulation and fat and protein metabolism. Manganese is vital for proper bone growth and works in tandem with B-complex vitamins. It is recommended for lactation, diabetes, asthma, muscle and mental fatigue, epilepsy, PMS, and digestion.
Dried fruits, whole grains, nuts and green leafy vegetables.
Antacids can interfere with manganese absorption as can excess magnesium, calcium, copper, zinc or iron. Too much manganese can also interfere with the assimilation of these same minerals.
Look for chelated types, such as manganese picolinate or gluconate.
