Vitamin K

Applications:
Osteoporosis, hemorrhaging, heavy periods, energy demands, post-surgery, colitis, gallstones.

Scientific Data:
A study found that a significant number of women who suffered from osteoporosis were also deficient in vitamin K.

Depleting Agents:
Antibiotics.

Sources:
Green leafy vegetables such as spinach, dark lettuce, broccoli, asparagus, whole wheat, whole oats, fresh peas.

Interactions:
Vitamin K can interfere with the action of anticoagulant drugs.

Recommendations:
Fat-soluble chlorophyll is an excellent source of vitamin K and is recommended. Make sure you look for fat-soluble varieties as water soluble chlorophyll will not provide the same biological benefits.
