Subject: Researchers find that consuming blended protein supplements canimprove energy malnutrition, muscle mass in leukemia patients

Because cancer can quickly accelerate the deterioration of a person’s body, some researchers in China wanted to find out how soy-whey protein blend can help patients with leukemia by considering its effects on protein energy absorption and muscle mass. This is because leukemia patients often experience a decrease in muscle mass and severe protein-energy malnutrition (PEM). Earlier studies have shown that soy-whey protein can promote muscle protein synthesis, so the present researchers wanted to know if it can help leukemia patients before they undergo bone marrow transplant. The patients used in the study were 24 in number and they were divided into two groups. One group took natural diet with soy-whey blended protein (BP) while the second group only took natural diet. From the data it was observed that there was a decrease in protein and energy intake of all the 24 participants. But in the group without the soy-whey diet, there was a significant decrease in muscle-related indicators in half of the patients while 60 percent of the patients who ingested the soy-whey blend protein had muscle mass increase in the arm area.

Key Takeaways:

  • Researchers in China who investigated the effects of leukemia on patients wanted to know how ingesting soy-whey protein can blend in with protein-energy absorption and muscle mass.
  • The researchers used about 24 patients to test their hypothesis that soy-whey protein can aid leukemia patients and they also used a natural diet only (ND) group.
  • From all the patients about 68 percent who ingested the soy-whey protein before transplantation showed increased improvements in the arm muscle area.

"In the ND group without the BP intervention, the researchers observed a significant reduction in muscle-related indicators (i.e., anthropometric variables, muscle strength and serum protein) in more than 50 percent of the patients."

Subject: Take better care of your heart by eating more almonds

A recent study showed that nuts are good snacks that can improve triglyceride and cholesterol levels. This study was done with 837 people and showed that the people who benefited the most were those with overall elevated total cholesterol. The results support the idea that eating nuts will lower the risk of heart disease. Other heart healthy snacks recommended include carrots, cucumbers, celery sticks and hummus, along with fruits such as whole apples, pears, peaches or bunches of grapes, oatmeal, and soy protein were listed.

Key Takeaways:

  • Many persons consider almonds to be an ideal snack because they contain various nutrients and have low fat content. But it can also maintain healthy blood lipid levels.
  • Some Canadian researchers reviewed the effects of almonds and used 837 participants to find out whether eating almonds can improve cholesterol and triglyceride levels.
  • The results of the review revealed that indeed almond can reduce total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, and triglyceride levels but it has no effect on HDL cholesterol levels.

"Among participants who consumed at least 45 grams (g) of almonds per day, a 0.212 mmol/L decrease in total cholesterol was seen. Furthermore, those who have high levels of total cholesterol and consumed at least 45 g of almonds every day experienced a 0.271 mmol/L in total cholesterol."

Alpha glycerylphosphoryl choline (alpha GPC) is source of choline that is considered a fatty acid. Alpha GPC has the potential to help cognitive function, as well as aid the body in necessary muscle contraction. Neurologists have found that not only does alpha GPC aid in promoting optimal cognitive function, but it can also help treat memory impairments associated with Alzheimer's and dementia. The muscle-related benefits also lead to higher athletic performance due to an increase in overall muscle strength.

Key Takeaways:

  • Because A-GPC or alpha GPC works to stimulate an important neurotransmitter to the brain when it releases choline, it is an important chemical for brain health.
  • Elderly people who have symptoms of dementia and want to improve it as well as athletes who want to improve their endurance and power can take alpha GPC.
  • Alpha GPC is a molecule that releases choline in the brain. It is found in soy lecithin and other plants as a fatty acid.

Subject: Sunflower Lecithin: Brain-Boosting Supplement or UnhealthyAdditive?

Sunflower Lecithin might be part of the reason some may view it as a super food: it is a fatty natural additive that improves many foods, boosts many parts of physical health(such as digestive health and brain health) and has many vitamins and minerals in it. It has been used in traditional medicine for a long time and can even be used in a vegan diet(unlike other forms of lecithin). Be careful though: overloading on it can cause digestive distress.

Key Takeaways:

  • Lecithin occurs naturally in your body, and can also be found in egg yolks, soy products, sunflower, meat and other dietary sources
  • Lecithin can bring relief to symptoms of gastrointestinal maladies such as ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s Disease by supporting the mucus layer in the gut.
  • Lecithin from sunflowers can help boost choline, an important neurotransmitter associated with memory, cognition and learning.

"Commonly used as an emulsifier and emollient in both processed foods and cosmetics alike, sunflower lecithin has also begun gaining traction in the supplement world thanks to its powerful health-promoting properties."

Natural remedies for osteoporosis: Several medicinal plants have been found to improve bone health without the side effects of medication

Osteoporosis is the most common bone disease, but common medicinal treatments can come with negative and unpleasant side effects. Osteoporosis means "porous bone" and refers to reduced bone density resulting in weakness. Recent research has identified a number of medicinal plants that appear to improve bone health, including black cohosh, Veld grape, Siberian ginseng, horny goat weed, soybean, Panax ginseng, Kwao Krua, and red sage. These treatments have shown promise in aiding bone formation and accelerating bone healing.

Key Takeaways:

  • It is incredible to think about the potential use cases there are of things in nature.
  • There is no way to determine as to why some of these things actually do have a medicinal affect.
  • Having the ability to slow down the deterioration of the body can be so useful.

"The medicinal plants that have been included in clinical studies showed potential in promoting bone formation and acceleration of bone healing in osteoporosis."

Subject: Vitamin B1 (Thiamine)

Vitamin B1 (Thiamine)

Vitamin B1, which is also known as thiamine, is a vital nutrient when it comes to human nutrition. In fact, Thiamine is a vital nutrient for the human nervous system. Within this capacity, it moderates appetite, prevents memory loss and reduces the possibility of nerve inflammation.

Thiamine has the intrinsic capacity to aid in maintaining energy levels, because its used at the cellular level throughout the body. That said, it stands to reason that a Thiamine deficiency can show itself as a significant lack of endurance and in a tendency to exhaustion. Besides its profound effect on the central nervous system, Thiamine also has a decided effect on the gastrointestinal system. Fortunately, besides supplementing with vitamins, Thiamine is amply available in natural foods. High protein sources include lean pork, fish and dry roasted soybeans. Vegans can get their thiamine on too. Besides soybeans, the nutrient is available in good quantity in wheat bread, asparagus and green peas.

Key Takeaways:

  • Vitamin B1 also helps to regulate appetite and improve memory, besides being of use to the digestive system.
  • Thiamine boosts energy at the cellular level, which is why a severe lack of the nutrient can lead to exhaustion and a lack of endurance.
  • Lean pork, fish, green peas, roasted dry soybeans, wheat bread and cooked asparagus are all good sources of Thiamine.

"Vitamin B1 also called Thiamine, helps in maintaining cellular functions and boosts the functions of the central nervous system."

Sea buckthorn oil can promote liver health and decrease the storage of body fat

More study is now being done regarding lesser known fruits and vegetables, not only for the betterment of human understanding, but also to potentially augment the list of natural alternatives to pharmaceuticals for the improvement of human health.

Healthy lipids and fatty acids have been on the nutrition radar for a while now, as these items are known for having useful bioactive ingredients, including high vitamin content, making them useful for human consumption. Sea buckthorn oil is a new face on the lipid list, but offering some impressive credentials. For example, the plant shows high levels of vitamin A and E, phytosterols and unsaturated fatty acids. One study suggests that the type of oil used by humans effects how much vitamin A the liver stores. The ware-housing effect was considerably upped when rats were given sea buckthorn oil as opposed to soybean oil. Sea buckthorn oil has other pluses too. It can reverse GERD and possibly ulcers, also lower cholesterol and promote heart health. It also reduces inflammation, making it useful for sore inflamed, reddened skin.

Key Takeaways:

  • Every part of the sea buckthorn – oil, leaves, fruit and bark – have been found to have medicinal properties.
  • Based on experiments on rats, sea buckthorn has been found to have high levels of C16 fatty acids and high amount of carotenoids.
  • Sea buckthorn oil, according to the findings, has important effects on the storage of fats in tissues.

"Lesser known fruits and plants have been gradually taking the spotlight in alternative medicine as natural remedies to various health conditions and improving overall nutrition."

It's probable that vitamin K gets overlooked because most people think of vitamin K as the blood-clotting factor, which it is, one type. The fact is there is a second type of the vitamin that works to prevent excessive buildup of calcium in the epidermis. This prevents wrinkles and boosts skin elasticity. Japanese women were the subject of a study wherein this was conclusively shown.

The Japanese population studied consumed a lot of traditional fermented soy beans. Fermented foods are the primary source of the calcium-constraining vitamin, just as leafy greens are the usual food sources of the blood-clotting variant of the vitamin.

Key Takeaways:

  • Vitamin K2 is a water-soluble vitamin found in fermented foods that promotes healthy absorption and distribution of calcium, including preventing too much from building up under the skin.
  • Vitamin K helps promote production of metric GLA protein, which directs calcium into the bones and away from arteries and helps prevent varicose veins.
  • You can find Vitamin K in chicken, egg yolk, butter, cheese and natto, a common Japanese dish of fermented soybeans.

"But epidemiological evidence suggests that diet has more influence on how we look than we realize"

Coconut oil is becoming more and more seen as a superfood, not only for its health but its beauty purposes as well. Its health can be seen with its anti-bacterial qualities. There is also a link to cardiovascular health. In Polynesia, where the coconut is the main staple, rates of heart disease are incredibly low. You can also use it to replace many of the fats in your pantry, since it cooks well and even adds great flavor to coffee.

Key Takeaways:

  • Many, many studies have been conducted on coconut oil, revealing its numerous benefits
  • Yet, many media outlets and other sources tend to cast coconut oil in a negative light, despite the evidence to the contrary.
  • In order to reap the health benefits of coconut oil, which are myriad, one should use it regularly - either through topical application or consumption.

"Coconut products, particularly coconut oil, have been used by certain populations around the world for millennia, and in places where coconut oil is consumed as part of the standard diet, people seem to thrive."

Food may be a great way to help you fight cancer. A recent study has shown that eating more cruciferous vegetables, like broccoli and kale, as well as soy can help breast cancer survivors as well as menopause sufferers. The study found that the symptoms of both were decreased with a diet higher in these nutrients. Oddly they only found this with in Caucasians. Asian women were shown to have no effect from this diet, leading the researchers to have more questions about the exact pathway.

Key Takeaways:

  • A large study found a link between cruciferous vegetable and soy to fighting breast cancer
  • The study found that the effect was greater in caucasians over Asian women
  • The link is unclear and they need to do more studies to see why it is isn't as positive for all groups.

"Choosing organic soy products is the easiest way to avoid genetically modified soy."

Hemp seeds come from cannabis. This means they are sort of controversial. They're very healthy, though. They contain many healthy fats and nutrients. They are considered a super food and would be a good addition to any diet. You could grind them and add them so you didn't detect them if you don't like the taste. You can get hemp powder already which is ground seeds. You can add these to smoothies and any other dish you want.

Key Takeaways:

  • Hemp seeds are much easier to digest than soy or other grains.
  • Hemp seeds have a perfect balance of Omega-3 and Omega-6.
  • Hemp seeds are packed full of essential nutrients and amino acids.

Subject: Plant protein found to reduce reproductive health problems in women

Proteins are the building blocks of life. Every cell in the human body contains protein. The basic structure of protein is a chain of amino acids. You need protein in your diet to help your body repair cells and make new ones. Protein is also important for growth and development in children, teens, and pregnant women. Amino acids are found in animal sources such as meats, milk, fish, and eggs. They are also found in plant sources such as soy, beans, legumes, nut butters, and some grains (such as wheat germ and quinoa). You do not need to eat animal products to get all the protein you need in your diet.

Key Takeaways:

  • Vegetable proteins may stop early menopause according to researchers of the University of Massachusetts.
  • Between 5% and 10% of American women will experience early menopause.
  • Women who get their protein primarily from red meat have an increased chance of early menopause by 12%.

"Researchers of the study found that women whose daily calorie intake consisted of 6.5 percent of vegetable protein lowered their risk of experiencing early menopause by 16 percent, compared to women whose daily intake of vegetable protein amounted to only four percent of calories."

Subject: How Coconut Oil May Rescue The Brain From Alzheimer’s Disease

One more reason to celebrate coconut oil! Coconut oil can be used for so many things -- from healing dry skin to easing constipation. However, coconut oil also shows promise to aid in easing Alzheimer's symptoms! In an exciting new study soon to be published in the Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease titled, “Coconut Oil Attenuates the Effects of Amyloid-ß on Cortical Neurons In Vitro.”, researchers found that adding coconut oil can have positive effects on the brain soon after it's ingested, helping to heal the brain of what is known as "type 3 diabetes". Researchers believe coconut oil shows great promise in helping extend the brain functions of Alzheimer's patients and warrants more research.

Key Takeaways:

  • Neuron cells from rats were exposed to the peptides that are found to cause Alzheimer's Disease and coconut oil. Results show that coconut oil may act as a neuroprotective against Alzheimer's.
  • Research shows that the chemical compounds found in coconut oil may act as an energy source for neurons battling Alzheimer peptides.
  • Some argue that food as medicine should be a doctrine that is further explored. Because walnuts and coconuts contains fatty acids that feed the brain and resemble the brain as well.

Much study has been done about how certain things affect breast cancer. Breast cancer is one of the leading forms of cancer in women at this time. In the past, there has always been the idea that soy should not be consumed because it increases the rate of breast cancer growth. It has been found however, that it actually helps reduce the mortality rate in some women with breast cancer. It must be noted however, that this was found to be the case in those women that had hormone receptor-negative cancer and women who had not been taking anti-estrogen therapy. Therefore, although there are some positive results about soy, caution seems to still be the important thing to remember.

Key Takeaways:

  • Breast cancer is the commonly disease of the women in these days.
  • Soy food consumption will risk women have breast cancer prolonged.
  • Risk factors have breast cancer, is being over weight and late menopause.

"Overall, researchers found dietary soy intake to be safe, and noticed a correlation between high soy consumption and a decrease in the mortality risk for some breast cancer patients."

Subject: Are Plant Proteins Complete Proteins?

Our bodies use 20 different amino acids to build proteins. Some amino acids can be synthesized when we need them but there are others that our body cannot make. The 9 amino acids that our bodies need but cannot make are called essential amino acids. Foods that contain all of the essential amino acids make up complete proteins. Most animal-based foods provide complete proteins whereas plant-based foods are not and must be eaten in combinations to get the complete set of amino acids our bodies need to function.

Key Takeaways:

  • Complete proteins are protein foods that contain all of the essential amino acids
  • Animal protein beef, pork, poultry, fish, dairy products, and eggs contain all nine essential amino acids
  • Some plant proteins, such as those found in buckwheat, quinoa, and Soy, are complete proteins as well.

"Though plant proteins technically aren’t "complete," as long as you’re eating a variety of plant protein sources, your body does the work of “completing” the proteins for you."

Subject: Tree nuts literally fight cancer in the human body

People who eat nuts in their adolescence may have a better chance of fighting off breast cancer later in life, according to data from the Harvard Nurse’s Study. A follow-up study involving the daughters of the nurses corroborated the findings. Those eating more peanut butter, nuts, beans, lentils, Soybeans, or corn were found to have just a fraction of the risk for fibrocystic breast disease, which places one at higher risk of cancer. The protective effects were found to be strongest for those most at risk, such as those with a family history of breast cancer.

Key Takeaways:

  • Over the last decade, R.D.s and nutritionists have revealed that nuts and seeds are on top of the heap of whole foods you should be eating everyday.
  • The two enzymes, catalase and superoxide dismutase, slowed the growth of colon cancer cells and increased programmed cell death in the cancer cells by up to 8% when the nuts were artificially digested in test tubes.
  • Up next is research to find out whether roasting nuts has any affect on the cancer cell-killing properties of the nuts initially tested, said the study authors, since most nuts are eaten roasted and not raw.

"Eating nuts consistently (and consciously) is perfect for pumping up heart protection, warding off obesity, and keeping clear of diabetes."

Subject: What Are The Health Benefits Of Vitamin K2?

Good for a multitude of health benefits, Vitamin K2 is often overlooked in favor of much more notable vitamins such as C or B12. It can help with everything from dental hygiene and health to improving upon our cardiovascular system. K2 is mainly found in animal products such as meat or eggs, as well as non-animal products such as fermented Soybeans. Though it's not easy to detect a K2 deficiency, it can lead to severe complications in the long term.

Key Takeaways:

  • A nutritional dose of vitamin K can improve your cardiovascular health. It is beneficial for prevention of heart disease. According to the Rotterdam study in 2004, eating foods rich in natural vitamin K2 reduces the risk of both arterial calcification and cardiovascular disease by as much as 50%.
  • Vitamin K2 plays an important role in your bone health. Osteocalcin is the protein responsible for anchoring calcium within the bones and it is activated by vitamin K2. Lack of vitamin K2 makes osteocalcin inactive. Thus, calcium will not be delivered to the bones making it unhealthy.
  • Vitamin K2 is an excellent calcium regulator. It directs calcium to the right places like bones and teeth. Thus, it makes your teeth stronger preventing cavities.

Subject: Relieve the Holiday Stress with Magnesium

The holiday season is meant for having quality time with friends and family, going on an adventure, taking time off work and so on. However, it can also be very stressful given the many guests to entertain, tight budget to stick to, preparing family meals, the shopping craze and so much more. It is important to gain control in this period of the year since too much stress can lead to depression alongside other physical and psychological issues. Fortunately, we have magnesium, the original chill pill, to get you back into the holiday cheer.

Magnesium is an essential mineral that plays a huge role in cell functioning and relaxation. It has been used in hospitals to treat a myriad of complications including anxiety, irritability, muscle cramps and headaches. Magnesium accounts for over 250 enzyme reactions in our bodies and regulates the secretion of stress hormones. It is basically the fuel that your body runs on and hence its deficiency will lead to undesirable symptoms like brain fog, anxiety, aggression and fatigue among others. Modern farming and lifestyle changes have led to rather low levels of magnesium in our bodies as compared to decades ago. Magnesium will particularly be used up in greater quantities by your body during periods of extreme stress like this holiday season. This will usually translate in poor stress management, thus the more reason you should take some magnesium.

Some of the magnesium-rich foods include parsley, avocado, bananas, kelp, leafy greens like spinach, Soy beans, brown rice, cashews and almond. In addition to providing this crucial mineral these foods also pack other nutritional benefits. Alternatively, you can also take a magnesium supplement like magnesium citrate and magnesium oxide to help rid some of that holiday stress. Lastly, taking baths in Epsom salts (magnesium sulfate) is also a great stress reliever plus it works wonders in treating colds, detoxifying the body, relieving back pain and sore muscles.

Subject: How nutritious are plant-based milks?

When deciding what type of milk to consume, it is best to read labels. While cow’s milk is fairly standard in the amount of nutrients it contains, plant-based milks can vary greatly depending on which company manufactures it. Unless there is a medical reason to do otherwise, it is recommended that all people consume cow’s milk. Soy, almond, coconut, and other nut milks can be lacking in their nutrients. Soy and nut milks contain a fair amount of protein, but none of the alternatives naturally contain calcium. It can be added, but these usually are not digested as well.

Key Takeaways:

  • Vegans and others may prefer to drink plant-based milks over milk that comes from animals, but a recent study in the Journal of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition confirmed that young children should drink cow’s milk.
  • An eight-ounce glass of cow’s milk naturally contains about eight grams of protein and almost a third of the recommended percent daily value of calcium.
  • Nutritionally, plant-based milks noted pale in comparison to cow's milk; none contain more than a gram of protein unless fortified.

"An eight-ounce glass of cow’s milk naturally contains about eight grams of protein and almost a third of the recommended percent daily value of calcium. Cow’s milk also naturally contains nutrients like potassium and vitamin B12, and is usually fortified with vitamins A and D."

Subject: Are These Factors Causing Inflammation In Your Body?

Inflammation is caused by a number of factors. For instance, the hormonal changes experienced by women during menopause can cause chronic inflammation. The production of the hormone cortisol during stressful moments can also contribute to inflammation. Some foods are another possible contributor. For instance, polyunsaturated oils like peanut, Soybean and corn lead to inflammation. Consuming a diet balanced in omega-3 and omega-6 fats can help balance this out. Inflammation can have negative long-term consequences on the body, so it’s best to consult a doctor and make healthy lifestyle choices.

Key Takeaways:

  • What causes inflammation? Here are a few causes that you may not even realize. If you often suffer from inflammation, the first thing you must check is your diet. Inflammation is also caused by stress and hormonal changes.
  • Polyunsaturated vegetable oils like corn, peanut, Soybean and sunflower are some samples of oil which are high in linoleic acid, an omega-6 fatty acid. Unlike omega-3 fatty acids that alleviate inflammation.
  • Red meat has also shown to cause inflammation. Research shows that individuals consuming specific types of red meats suffer from inflammation. There are certain substances present in red meat that are known to cause inflammation.

"Along with other factors, there are certain foods that you consume which might end up causing inflammation. These are regular food items that we have without even realising that they are the cause of inflammation."

Subject: A Simple Thing As Taking A Breath Causes Us To Age

We are often told that stress level accelerates the process of aging. But, is there any kind of scientific evidence to prove this perception? Some of the results of scientific studies have already suggested that, oxidative stress has a negative impact on both physical and emotional health.

Breathing oxygen leads to the formation of ROS or reactive oxygen species within the body, which is essential for the cellular signaling process. Aerobic metabolism results in the generation of small amounts of ROS and free radicals. This is necessary for the normal functioning of the human body. But, there is a specific reason for which the ROS carry negative connotations. Whenever our body’s antioxidant defense mechanism malfunctions, the balance between oxidant and antioxidant gets spoiled. The circulative level of ROS moves out of control and causes a disturbance in the redox signaling and control and further damages the macromolecules, cells and tissues. The DNA damage response is a hierarchical procedure.

It has been widely recognized that, oxidative stress is one of the primary factors, which makes the aging process faster.

Best Anti-Aging Diet

What you eat has a great impact on how you are feeling and how you are aging. If you eat right, it will contribute to a great extent to keep your skin young and healthy. Antioxidants help stop unstable molecules from damaging healthy cells. Dark green leafy vegetables such as kale, mustard greens, spinach and collard are great sources of these nutrients. Foods like oranges, corns and pepper also help to keep your eye healthy. Vitamin C is also beneficial for the skin. Some studies have also suggested that, daily consumption of yellow and green vegetables helps lessen the wrinkles of the skin.

Resveratrol is another powerful antioxidant, which is highly present in grapes and red wine. It not only lowers the aging process, but, also lowers the chances of cancer and heart disease. Studies have also revealed that, nuts are rich sources of unsaturated fats. They are also great sources of vitamins, minerals and phytochemicals like antioxidants. Thus, it helps to keep the skin healthy and young.

Beans and lentils are great sources of fiber and plant-based protein. They are very beneficial for protecting you from early aging. So, you can easily consume them instead of red meat, which have saturated fat and are not great for your heart.

Dairy products like low-fat milk, yogurt, etc. are also great options for slowing down your aging process. If you do not eat dairy, you can replace them with Soya milk, almond milk or cereals.

How Does Nattokinase Improve Blood Flow?
TopPreviousNext

Subject: How Does Nattokinase Improve Blood Flow?

An enzyme is a protein that speeds up complex biochemical reactions in the body.  Enzymes are substrate-specific catalysts that accelerate these chemical reactions by converting substrates into simpler products.  Nattokinase is an enzyme which is extracted from a traditional Japanese delicacy called Natto.  Natto is basically boiled Soy beans that have been fermented using a bacterium known as Bacillus natto.  When the bacteria act on the boiled Soy beans, Nattokinase is produced.  This is the only method of preparation of natto that results in the production of this enzyme.

Many people may not be fond of the nutty flavor and sour taste of natto, but this is probably one of the world’s healthiest foods.  Its potency lies in the fact that it contains Nattokinase.  Nattokinase was discovered by Dr. Hiroyuki Sumi who was searching for the ultimate natural blood thinner and clot-buster.  If he found one, it would be a one of a kind thrombolytic agent that would help in the fight against stroke and heart attacks associated with blood clotting.  His Eureka moment came in 1980 when he placed natto in a Petri-dish with a thrombus (blood clot). The clot dissolved completely within 18 hours.

Blood Clot
Blood Clot

The process of blood clotting occurs naturally when a blood vessel is injured.  This happens to stop the bleeding; else we would bleed to death.  However, sometimes blood clots form in the blood vessels even when a person is not injured.  This poses a great risk as it disrupts the smooth flow of blood.  It may block a blood vessel and in a worst case scenario, travel to the heart and gets lodged there.  This is where the potency of Nattokinase is best applied.  As an excellent and natural clot buster, Nattokinase will dissolve existing blood clots and even prevent them from forming in the first place.  Another overlooked problem that often results in high blood pressure and heart disease is hyper viscosity.  This thickening of the blood results in a sluggish blood flow – it increases the risk of clot formation and it overworks the heart.  Nattokinase benefits helps reinforce the actions of the body’s anti-clotting agent – plasmin.  It prevents this abnormal thickening of blood hence promoting improved blood flow.

The Dangers of Vegetable Oil

Author: Darrell Miller
Subject: The Dangers of Vegetable Oil

More often than not, when we see the words vegetable oil, we assume that it is good for us since vegetables are essentially beneficial for the body. The truth of the matter is that this kind of oil is mostly derived from seeds such as sunflower, Soybean and corn, not from any kind of vegetable at all. Aside from this, their extraction requires a process that uses up a lot of energy and is not good for the environment.

Vegetable Oil

Trans Fats

Unsaturated fats, otherwise known as trans fats, are fats that are usually solid at room temperature but processed in such a way that they are not when they come in the form of oils derived from seeds. These contribute to diabetes, heart disease, cancer and obesity. The sad part is that although there are so many calls to action regarding minimizing the presence of trans fats in food; there is very little that has been done regarding their presence in vegetable oils. How trans fats were developed or discovered will show how scary it actually is. It was discovered while looking for an alternative to tallow which is an ingredient for candle wax. It was cheap and convenient to harness and use. The reason why it is widely used is because of its extended shelf life. It can also be reused several dozen times for frying without changing flavor or adding a rancid taste to the food fried in it.

Mutated Fats

The process of extracting the oils from their sources requires a lot of heating and, for some, even exposure to acids and metals which contribute to the "mutation" that these oils undergo. Hydrogenated vegetable oil confuses our bodies into thinking that they are good for us. This is mainly due to the processes that changes their form. HVO alters the structure of our cells, making them weak and lowering the good cholesterol as well as raising the bad. Our bodies welcome these fats and do not treat them as a danger although their presence does, in fact, increase the risk of heart disease, diabetes and other diseases.

Imbalances

Vegetable oils can also cause imbalances in the composition of our fatty acids. Omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids are not produced by our bodies. Therefore, we need to supplement these from our diets and daily consumption in pretty much the same amounts to balance their presence in the body. Polyunsaturated fats from HVO that causes the mutation in our cell membranes can lead to oxidative chain reactions which are harmful to our cells. In essence, our cells are made weak and the chances of alterations to our DNA are increased. Omega 6 is abundant in HVO because it helps to slow the deterioration of the vegetable oil. It can cause an imbalance to the cell membrane causing inflammation in various parts of the body. One component of Omega 6 that is highly dangerous is linoleic acid. It has been linked to obesity, high levels of bad cholesterol and even damage to the brain's hypothalamus.

These are just a few of the dangers that come with using so called vegetable oils. These dangers are kept under wraps because of the massive income that the food industry will lose if it changes the oils used for cooking and preparing food.

Do you want to get some information about Magnesium?

Magnesium has been found to be working in other ways to contribute in preserving the nervous system. Before the end of 20th Century, specialized doctors had established that injection of magnesium in our bodies exerts a depressant effect on the nerves. In fact, the main use of this mineral in early times was to induce sleep. Significantly, any hibernating animal have high levels of magnesium. The mineral has also shown effectiveness in control of convulsion in pregnant women, the shakes in alcoholic and epileptic seizure.

MAGNESIUM CALMING THE NERVOUS SYSTEM

One of paradoxical effect is that, a magnesium deficient person who end up taking magnesium will feel energetic than never before yet the mineral is not a stimulant but rather a depressant. Actually, magnesium normally relieves the irritability of nervous system and the excessive energy, which will result to fatigue.

With this, it will not be surprising to say that when an individual magnesium levels is sub-normal then the nerves will not be in a position of controlling functions such as muscle movement, mental processes and respiration. Irregular heartbeat, twitching, irritability and largely nervous fatigue are the most frequent symptoms of magnesium depletion.

Often, deficiency of magnesium is because of failure on individual side to obtain to use dietary sources such as eggs, wheat germ, green vegetables, cocoa, almonds, Soybeans, desiccated liver among many other. However, in some instances, coexisting illness can impair absorption of this mineral, for example the intestinal infections. In such an instant, ingested magnesium may be lost completely in the body and majorly in the nervous system.

PENN of Columbia University published the information of essential of magnesium to nervous system first in 1966. He studied the conduction of electricity by the nerves. The main finding was that calcium is the prime conductor mineral of the electrical current. It was concluded from the finding that Magnesium would in turn maintain the required level of calcium in the nervous system. Actually, Magnesium is Do you want to get some information about Magnesium? The nutrient that is likely to change your living standards by improving your nerve health.

Subject: How Important Is It To Take A Trace Mineral Supplement And Why?

trace mineralsWhat is Trace Minerals

Trace minerals are the essential minerals for proper functioning of our bodies. Trace minerals are zinc, calcium, copper, fluoride, iodine, iron, selenium, etc., the best way to get these minerals is through a diet rich in nutrients. The modern busy lifestyle prevents us from obtaining these minerals, also modern diets, have led to a deficiency in some of the most essential minerals. That is why a proper trace mineral supplementation is necessary for optimal health.

Most important trace minerals are:

Zinc is a mineral found in meat, poultry, beans, nuts, seafood. The recommended daily intake for adult males is 11 mg and 8 mg for female. Zinc deficiency leads to slow recovery of injuries, diarrhea in children, stunted growth; it may disrupt the thyroid functioning, low levels of testosterone. Zinc is necessary for the immune system, it cures the common cold faster, and it is used for Attention deficit disorder, Down syndrome, colitis and many other illnesses.

Copper is a mineral mostly found in meat, and many foods we already intake. The recommended daily intake of copper is only 2 mg. The National center for biotechnology information warns about recent studies who found copper deficiency. Copper deficiency leads to Menkes' syndrome, anemia, and neutropenia.

Iodine - 3. 40% of the world population is at risk of iodine deficiency. The use of iodine is at risk of extinction because of using iodine in salt. Many people do not have the proper nutrition to obtain the daily need of iodine. Iodine deficiency leads to hyperthyroidism, enlargement of the thyroid gland, miscarriages in pregnancy, preterm delivery of babies, and to permanent mental damage in babies. Iodine is found in meat, dairy products, Soy, eggs, milk, and ice cream.

Manganese is a mineral responsible for blood clotting, sex hormones, and it forms the connective tissue. Manganese is found in the bones, kidneys, pancreas, adrenal, and pituitary glands. According to the University of Maryland, 37% of the Americans are at risk of manganese deficiency, and do not take the daily recommended intake of manganese. Manganese deficiency changes the fat metabolism; it causes bone deformities, skin rash, increases calcium in blood, and causes many other symptoms, which lead to serious medical problems. Manganese is found in nuts, seeds, whole grains.

Chromium is found in meat, whole grain, some fruits, but these foods provide a very small amount of chromium in the body. The recommended daily intake of chromium is 50-200 mg a day and food provides 2 mg per serving. The elder are at a higher risk of chromium deficiency. Research has found that chromium deficiency leads to glucose intolerance and insulin resistance, and increased chromium intake has fixed diabetes symptoms in patients.

Who is at risk of trace mineral deficiency?

Vegetarians are at a higher risk of mineral deficiency as most of the sources of these minerals are coming from meat. Vegetarians should consider taking trace mineral supplementation. We need a very small amount of minerals for proper functioning of our bodies, still we have a mineral deficiency which leads to many illnesses, improper functioning in the body. The mineral deficiency has led to lower life span in humans. Our ancestors lived longer because they ate home cooked food, rich in the most important nutrients. Daily trace mineral supplementation is essential for returning our health and immune system on the right track. That is why we all need proper trace mineral supplementation to compensate for the low levels of minerals.
