Subject: When will I start noticing results? HRG80 Red Ginseng

Clinical studies that featured red ginseng, ashwagandha, and maca individually typically saw results between 8 to 12 weeks. However, the synergistic benefits of having a combination of these ingredients could mean that you may experience benefits before that. The best results for sexual enhancement occur over time with continued use of this safe and effective formula.*

What about toxins and pesticides?

I’ve heard that ginseng is susceptible to picking up toxins or pesticides through its roots. Is this something I need to worry about with your product? No. The HRG80 ginseng that we feature in our red ginseng supplements is hydroponically grown in ultra-clean conditions. Because the ginseng roots are carefully cultivated and provided with optimal growing conditions without the need for pesticides or exposure to soil-borne toxins, the plant thrives and produces the beneficial compounds we look for that make a good supplement. This process concentrates the most beneficial compounds – rare noble ginsenosides – to an average seven times higher levels than those found in conventional ginseng, and they are absorbed up to 17 better than classic ginsenosides.††

Subject: The Amazing Ayurvedic Adaptogen Ashwagandha

Adaptogenic herbs are special! They can help the body with stress, boost immunity, and promote fast recovery from exercise, to mention a few benefits. One of the world's most effective adaptogen is ashwagandha. This ayurvedic herb can:

  • Strengthen Immune & Respiratory Defense
  • Reduce Reactivity to Stress
  • Promote Daily Energy
  • Bolster Stamina & Endurance
  • Speed Recovery from Exercise
  • Sharpen Focus & Concentration

Daily Energy is from Thyroid support

Ashwagandha helps the body feel more energized through normalized thyroid activity. This herb can boost thyroid hormones T3 and T4 by normalizing the thyroid stimulation hormone (TSH) in as little as 8 weeks.

Bolster Stamina and Endurance

Keeping fit means getting as much out of a workout as one can. Ashwagandha can improve the performance in any workout setting. Cyclists in an 8 week study showed there maximum aerobic capacity the rate at which oxygen is taken up by red blood cells, and respiratory exchange, how much oxygen can be inhaled and carbon dioxide is exhaled. Cyclists found improvement compared to the placebo group studied.

Focus, sharpness, concentration, protect your mind

Adaptogens can help the body adapt to stress, improve energy, and assist the brain in staying more mentally focused. Ashwagandha can protect brain cells even when sleep deprived. It also increases glutathione levels a key antioxidant needed by the liver. One study showed that ashwagandha can slow the decline of memory and mental function in elderly people. An 8 week study showed that this herb can improve working memory and reaction time.

Looking to Improve Memory, Stamina, Endurance, concentration, and energy, give ashwagandha a try for 8 weeks and see the difference.

Subject: Study shows that vitamin D can help lower your risk of Type 2diabetes

Many people are frightened by the prospect of type 2 diabetes given all the risks that it comes with which include regular finger pricks for tests, and a host of complications for diseases like kidney and liver damage, and a higher risk of having stroke or heart disease. Preventing type 2 diabetes is then essential and recent studies have shown that vitamin D can help in that regard. The researchers already knew that vitamin D can help with insulin sensitivity and pancrease beta cells function so they wanted to find out the link between vitamin D and blood glucose levels. 680 women between the ages of 35 and 74 were experimented upon and they were given vitamin D supplementation and exposure to sunlight. They found a negative association between vitamin D and blood glucose level meaning that vitamin D, especially being exposed to sunlight, reduced the levels of glucose in the blood. They also found that vitamin D deficiency was associated with a high level of glucose in the blood. This present study was found to correlate with other studies between vitamin D presence in the body and glucose levels.

Key Takeaways:

  • Having type 2 diabetes is a frightening prospect because the condition entails a lot of complications like regular finger pricks for tests.
  • Since they already know that vitamin D can help one with insulin sensitivity and the function of pancreatic beta cells, the researchers wanted to find out the link.
  • 680 women were studied and they found that those who had high levels of vitamin D due to sunlight and supplementation had lower levels of blood glucose.

"Specifically, those who had high levels of vitamin D enjoyed a 55 percent lower chance of developing type 2 diabetes, a 51 percent lower change of metabolic syndrome, and a 33 percent lower risk of developing cardiovascular disease."

Subject: Omega-3s are a potent way to treat depression without resorting todangerous prescription medications

One can treat poor mood and depression without using pharmaceutical drugs. One of these approaches involves using omega-3 fatty acid. Foods rich in this fatty acid can help. It has been shown by many scientific studies that the risk of having depression is reduced when one takes foods rich in omega-3 fatty acid. Some of the means that have been identified as the pathways in which omega-3 fatty acids work is that they can make the CNS to release more serotonin, they can reduce the risk of an inflammation and also its severity, and they can stop phosphatidyl-inositol from releasing hormones that make a person to have depressive moods. The way omega-3 fatty acids do this has been found to be similar to the way anti-depressant drugs work. Omega-3 fatty acids have been found to counter the release of serotonin in the brain that trigger depressive moods and they also have effect on the release of cytokines in the heart that relates to lowering the risk of one having coronary heart disease. And fortunately, heart disease is linked to major depressive moods. So, omega-3 fatty acid is a powerful compound that can be used to treat both problems. But what researchers have not agreed upon though is the required dosage of omega-3 fatty acid that a person should take each day to reap these benefits.

Key Takeaways:

  • Many ways in which one can remedy the occurrence of poor moods and depression without the use of pharmaceutical drugs have now been discovered.
  • The risk of having depression have been found to be influenced by eating omega-3 fatty acids and those who take it in large amounts have low risk of depression.
  • Similar to how pharmaceutical drugs help a person with depression, omega-3 fatty acids stop immune cells from releasing cytokines that are pro-inflammatory in the brain.

"The fatty acids achieve their natural antidepressant effects through several means. Omega-3s can raise the activity of CNS seratonin, reduce the risk and severity of inflammation, and stop phosphatidyl-inositol from sending signals that bring about depressive moods."

Subject: Curcumin found to be one of the best natural ways to alleviatedepression

Curcumin has been known to be a silver bullet. It can be used to cure a host of diseases and conditions including cardiovascular diseases, Alzheimer’s, and cancer. Now depression can be added to the list according to new research. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) notes that depression affects 16 million Americans every year. Although treatment for it is available, it usually comes with adverse effects. Therefore, there is compelling need for a safer means of treating people. Before this study, it has already been found from multiple studies that curcumin can have an effect on depressive conditions. It was reported to be well tolerated by patients with no adverse side effects. For their current study in Australia, the researchers looked at twenty years of data including current studies on curcumin. They then studied about 342 patients using curcumin and a placebo. From their results, there was a significant reduction in depression after treatment with curcumin compared with the placebo after six weeks of treatment. The researchers then concluded that compelling evidence exists for the use of curcumin in treatment of depression.

Key Takeaways:

  • Curcumin is the main ingredient that is found in turmeric and it has been known to be a silver bullet that can be used to treat several conditions.
  • Along with curing a list of diseases which include diabetes, Alzheimer’s, cardiovascular disease, and even cancer, curcumin can now be used to cure depression.
  • Depression affects millions of people in the United States every year but while treatment for the disease exists many people stop the treatments because of adverse effects.

"The study also found that curcumin exhibited significant anti-anxiety properties, based on data from 377 patients."

Subject: For the men: Multivitamins can keep heart disease at bay

When one gets insufficient nutrients from the diet, taking multivitamins can be a healthy way to improve this. A recent study has shown that men who take multivitamins a lot are less prone to diseases related to the heart such as stroke and even death related to cardiovascular diseases. But how can cardiovascular diseases be prevented using multivitamins? There are few studies in this direction although a lot of studies have been done on the health benefits of multivitamins. That is why a team of researchers in the US embarked on a study of the incidence of multivitamin usage on major cardiovascular diseases like stroke, heart attack, and cardiovascular death. The study was a long term prospective study. The study was conducted between 1982 and 1995 using 18,530 healthy men that were aged from 40 years and above who the researchers followed. The participants reported their lifestyle habits and as well as their intake of certain foods. Throughout the follow up study, there were only 1,697 reported cases of cardiovascular diseases. This made the researchers to conclude that taking multivitamins means a reduced risk to cardiovascular diseases. It is then appropriate for one to choose the right kind of supplements to improve the diet.

Key Takeaways:

  • When one suspects that he is not getting the full nutrients that his body needs on a daily basis, taking quality multivitamins is necessary.
  • According to a recent study that was done on multivitamins, men who have taken them for a long time have lower risks of stroke and cardiovascular diseases.
  • Many persons know of the important role of multivitamins in improving and maintaining health, but little research has been done on its role on cardiovascular disease.

"In conducting the study, the research team followed 18,530 healthy men aged 40 years old or over from 1982 to 1995. The participants were initially enrolled from the Physicians’ Health Study I cohort"

Subject: The key nutrients needed to prevent heart attacks, strokes andheart failure

The CDC assesses that more than 5,100,000 Americans have some variant of heart disease, and that 610,000 will die from it this year alone. While the conventional range of treatments mostly relies on medications, micronutrient-based Cellular Medicine provides an alternative. Cellular Medicine pioneer Dr. Matthias Rath has carried out some very promising clinical research involving micronutrient supplementation. Dr. Rath believes that the American diet, medication side effects and modern food handling and production practices mean that many people are deprived of a range of important micronutrients, with very bad consequences for heart health.

Key Takeaways:

  • A physician named Dr. Rath views heart disease as an early form of scurvy, which results from a Vitamin C deficiency.
  • If your body does not have enough Vitamin C, cracks can form in your arterial walls and your body tries to repair them with artery-clogging plaque.
  • In addition to Vitamin C, people at risk for heart disease should also consume more Vitamin E and B-complex vitamins.

"With the odds of surviving past the five-year mark currently standing at 50 percent, it’s clear that more effective prevention and treatment options are needed."

Subject: Oolong tea inhibits the growth and progression of breast cancer cells

Many persons drink tea for relaxation, stress relief, and to get a caffeine fix but little do they know that drinking tea can help to inhibit the growth of breast cancer cells. Some researchers in both America and China who worked together have found that drinking tea can lead to DNA damage in the cells of breast cancer. Since this tea can be used to prevent also the progression of a tumor, it is hoped that one day they can be a non-toxic means to prevent the growth of breast cancer. In the USA alone, about 250,000 women were diagnosed with breast cancer in 2018 and about 41,000 are expected to die from the disease. Although there are improvements in the screening for breast cancer, and in treatment, it is noted that more needs to be done to help women. The researchers discovered that tea has long been used in medicinal treatment in China for centuries and reckoned that black tea is used more often than green tea and oolong tea. And although the benefits of green tea in treating cancer has long been known, the use of oolong tea for cancer is not known, so the researchers sought out this tea in their experiment. Using patients from Fujian, China, where oolong tea is grown mainly, they found out that there was a lower incidence of cancer among people who take oolong tea.

Key Takeaways:

  • Many persons drink tea so that it can help them relax or to get their fix of caffeine but they do not know that it can inhibit breast cancer.
  • The lead author on oolong tea and breast cancer observed how it caused morphology alteration and DNA damage in the cells of breast cancer.
  • Over 250,000 women in the USA alone were diagnosed with breast cancer in the year 2018 and it is estimated that 41,000 will die from it.

"Like black and green teas, oolong tea contains several vitamins, minerals, and helpful antioxidants."

Kava kava was found to alleviate anxiety symptoms by a study done at Gran Valley State University in Michigan. The study reported that it was safe if used for less than eight weeks. This medicine can be found in the Pacific and helps the many people suffering phobias and major depressive disorders. Approximately one in fourteen people suffer from some anxiety. The medicine was found to be harmful to the liver, and even toxic if taken longer than eight weeks. It was also found to be more effective for females and younger people. Longer term studies will be done to determine overall safety. In the meantime, other treatments include using skullcap, Valerian root, passion flower and Ashwagandha.

Key Takeaways:

  • Kava kava is used widely in the pacific to alleviate anxiety and a new study from Grand Valley state University in Michigan has confirmed its effectiveness.
  • In the US about 40 million adults are said to suffer from anxiety disorder and the specific issues range from major depressive disorders to phobias.
  • 11 articles that met the inclusion criteria for kava kava to be effective against anxiety were used in the study by the Michigan researchers.

Subject: Eat (or drink) your vegetables: Make smoothies to maximize the lutein in spinach

Spinach, one of the healthiest vegetables available, and it contains a high amount of lutein. The best way to get this lutein is to blend it in a smoothie or add it to a green juice. Because lutein is fat-soluble and stored in the immune cells, the researchers for this study were looking for ways to boost lutein levels in the blood and take advantage of its many health benefits. The research team that came from Sweden used Spinach to understand this process and they processed spinach in various ways, examining various heating and steaming methods to best bolster lutein content in spinach. They found that heating makes spinach to lose its lutein content and the more it is boiled, the more lutein that is lost. They found that the best way to consume spinach to preserve its lutein content is to take it cold. Therefore that is why adding spinach to smoothies is recommended for maximum consumption of lutein in spinach.

Key Takeaways:

  • Dark green vegetables contain abundant quantities of lutein and this natural fat-soluble pigment can be used to fight inflammation in immune cells for people with coronary heart disease.
  • It has also been found that lutein can be stored in immune cells which means one can have a reserve or store of lutein in the body.
  • The research team wanted to find out which method of cooking makes lutein in spinach most available and they fried, steamed, and boiled the spinach for several minutes.

"There are many different ways of preparing spinach, but a recent study suggests that blending it in a smoothie or adding it to your green juice is the best way to maximize its lutein content."

Subject: How Can Cannabis Help with Autoimmune Disorders?

Autoimmune diseases affect nearly 50 million people living in the United States. These diseases can lead to either over-activation, where antibodies may attack otherwise healthy organs, or under-activation, where not enough antibodies are produced to effectively fight off diseases. Using cannabis may be an alternative means of dealing with autoimmune disorders. Cannabinoids have been shown to be able to bind to receptors within the body which appears to be a possible therapeutic key. Studies with hepatitis, psoriasis, fibromyalgia, Crohn's disease, and Multiple Sclerosis have shown cannabis to provide some relief. However, there are some risk of discomfort from side-effects that could occur with using cannabis to treat autoimmune diseases.

Key Takeaways:

  • Autoimmune disorders, which result from a hyper-reactive or under-reactive immune system, affect 50 million Americans.
  • Three well known autoimmune disorders are multiple sclerosis, Crohn's Disease and psoriasis.
  • Evidence suggests that the use of cannabis has given some sufferers of psoriasis relief from the inflammatory effects of the condition.

"In cases of over-activation, the immune system produces antibodies in response to an unknown trigger that attacks the body's own tissues and organs."

Fatty Liver Disease is becoming a real issue and may impact up to 1/4th of the United States population. Thankfully there appear to be means of combating this disease. Probiotics have already contributed in reducing acetaminophen-caused liver disease particularly with lowering of the oxidative stress. Positive gut health and bacteria is also important in maintaining a healthy immune system and can contribute to further protecting the body against Fatty Liver Disease. Eating the right foods, including fermented varieties, helps promote good gut health.

Key Takeaways:

Subject: Holy basil works to reduce stress and defeat cancer

With illnesses increasing and information regarding how to battle them growing in recent years, many have turned to holistic forms of medicine as a means of battling otherwise destabilizing diseases. One of these diseases that has been targeted for cure with non-traditional medicine has been that of cancer, which recent findings suggest that holy basil may be a potential aid in the fight against the disease, while also helping to reduce stress and other factors in an individual.

Key Takeaways:

  • The ayurvedic healing system has long revered the holy basil for millenials for its effectiveness against chronic stress. Now, modern researchers are discovering that secret.
  • Some of the things a substance must do to be an adaptogen is that it should strengthen the immune system, help the body during stress, and prevent diseases.
  • Holy basil, which is not to be confused with sweet basil, is an adaptogen and furthermore is also anti-inflammatory, an antioxidant, and immunity enhancing.

"Chronic stress damages the nervous system, suppresses the immune system, and can even cause increased appetite and weight gain. When it comes to relieving effects of stress, holy basil just might be the “gold standard” of soothing herbs."

Adding seaweed to your diet can help protect your system from becoming vulnerable to several ailments, while also lessening the amount of symptoms from chronic conditions that you have already been diagnosed with. Seaweed is known to promote proper thyroid functioning, helping protect your body from being diagnosed with over or under-active thyroid disease. If you are living with diabetes, the consumption of seaweed can help reduce the effects of insulin resistance and inflammation that you may experience.

Key Takeaways:

  • In contrast with other generations about a decade ago, new technology gives the possibility for more information but that does not mean people are more aware of their surroundings.
  • Today, people have more knowledge about which food are healthy for the body or not. They can easily search for the information on the Internet.
  • Some foods have become very popular today because some food blogger or celebrity recommended it and people now add it to their daily diet.

"Research on seaweed shows its numerous benefits for the digestive system, thyroid glands, and the general health."

Subject: Why Fibre: The One Effective Macronutrient For Constipation AndWeight Loss

Fiber is a critical macronutrient that can help to alleviate constipation by increasing the size and weight of the stool. However, consuming too much fiber can cause discomfort, gas and bloating. The recommended daily intake of fiber for adults is 25 grams for women and 35 grams for men. Unfortunately, most people take in only about 15 grams of fiber per day. It's important to drink plenty of water so that the body can absorb fiber properly without any negative effects. While fiber is not a magic pill, it can aid in weight loss by eliminating toxins, boosting gut health, and balancing blood sugar.

Key Takeaways:

  • Since fiber is an essential macronutrient that the body requires, people who are suffering from constipation can get relief from having it in their diet.
  • Some of the benefits of taking fiber include the smooth movement of bowel through the increase in the weight and size of stool, and for losing weight.
  • Although fiber is good for the body, too much of fiber is unhealthy because it can lead to bloating, gas, and constipation.

"This means that a lack of fibre can invite a host of health problems ranging from plummeting sugar and lipid profiles, overeating which can in turn lead to obesity, constipation and gut dysbiosis which can pave way for even more serious illnesses."

Subject: What Does Obesity mean for Your Health, Heart, Thyroid, Diabetes

Many people who are concerned in general terms about obesity still have gaps in their knowledge regarding several specific health consequences, according to the Cleveland Clinic Heart Health Survey. The survey indicated that, while most people understand that obesity is bad for cardiac health, they may not appreciate the role of triglycerides or different types of cholesterol. Likewise, relatively few respondents have made major dietary changes to try to lose weight, and my people appear not to understand that even relatively modest weight loss can have significant health benefits.

Key Takeaways:

  • Although many adults are concerned about having excess weight, they fail to make the connection between excess weight and the risk of developing chronic diseases.
  • According to a cardiologist expert, Luke Laffin, MD, it was surprising from a survey that only 22 percent of respondent had ever talked to their doctor about excess weight.
  • Individuals who have hypothyroidism even before the condition is diagnosed have been observed to have the tendency for excess weight gain.

"Carrying excess weight worsens glucose tolerance and also increases the risk of developing certain cancers."

Subject: Probiotics Benefit More Than Just Digestion

Everyone has heard that probiotics can help us stay regular, but they can do a lot more than that. Taking probiotics can help to boost your immune system. Pro-biotics can lower blood pressure and cholesterol level. They can help you stay hydrated and fight inflammation, both of which can improve the condition of your skin. It has become apparent also that the mind and the gut are interconnected. Therefore, taking probiotics for a healthy gut will support greater mental health.

Key Takeaways:

  • We are constantly being advised to take probiotics because they can help in making us healthy, but there are many more things they can help us in.
  • An unhealthy gut can lead to weight gain because one has constipation and is not able to digest food properly while a healthy gut leads to weight loss.
  • Two factors that can contribute to a sick heart are blood pressure and cholesterol levels. It has been shown that probiotics can reduce both of these.

"A healthy gut means stronger immunity, and when you feed your gut probiotics, it can go a long way in boosting your immune system. We can all use an extra immune boost this time of year."

Subject: The Best Keto Fiber Foods & Why You Need Them

The Keto diet is well-known for emphasizing the value of healthy fats, but that doesn't mean it neglects the importance of fiber. It is not uncommon for those transitioning to the low-carb, high fat Keto diet to experience problems with digestion. The solution is to consume high fiber foods that keep you in a state of ketosis. These include non-starchy vegetables (e.g., cabbage and asparagus) as well as seeds and nuts. Keto fiber supplements - such as Gum arabic and Chia seeds - can also serve to maintain digestive regularity.

Key Takeaways:

  • Avocado is full of both healthy fats and dietary fiber, making it a valuable staple for people on keto diets.
  • Non-starchy vegetables like cabbage, broccoli, Brussels sprouts and zucchini can provide lots of fiber, vitamins and antioxidants.
  • When eaten in moderation, high-fiber nuts like pistachios, walnuts, almonds and hazelnuts can provide fiber and nutrients and help digestion.

"Eighty percent of your total daily calories should be coming from foods like olive oil, coconut oil, grass-fed butter, nuts and seeds."

Subject: Chitosan: A more environmentally friendly food packaging materialthan plastic

Itsaso Leceta, an academic researcher from the University of Basque Country has developed a biodegradable polymer, hoping to change packaging standards. Chitosan, made from crustacean chitins, prevents fungi and bacteria from infecting whole foods. It does not, however, block gas, water, or vapor. On the plus side, this new environmentally conscious food packaging is completely biodegradable, even edible. Everyone can make a difference, and consumers can start by choosing alternative means in their lives, like Chitosan.

Key Takeaways:

  • Although fruit is often coated in plastic films to protect it from contaminants, these plastics pollute the sea, and their productions involves the use of hazardous chemicals.
  • Chitosan is produced by processing the material that makes up crustaceans’ exoskeletons, and it has antimicrobial properties that make it a good potential coating for fruit and vegetables.
  • You can help reduce the impact of packaging materials on the environment by bringing your own bag when you buy produce, and by buying from local farmers.

"It is a biodegradable, biocompatible (not harmful to living tissue) polymer that can be used to wrap vegetables and fruits. Its purpose is to prevent bacteria and fungi from infecting whole foods, and prolonging their shelf life."

Subject: Omega-3 Deficiency Symptoms + 3 Steps to Overcome Them

Omega-3s have a wide variety of benefits for your brain and cardiac health, as well as keeping inflammation in check and hormones in balance, so you definitely shouldn’t let yourself become deficient. Omega-3s are an essential fatty acid, meaning the body cannot produce them on its own. A deficiency can cause inflammation, digestive troubles, and pain in muscles and joints, as well as changes in the appearance of skin and hair. Deficiencies can also cause or worsen ADHD symptoms or depression. A lack of omega-3s can even result in poor brain development in children and neurodegenerative symptoms in adults.

Key Takeaways:

  • It has been shown in numerous studies that omega-3 is very good for the health and some of the benefits include fighting inflammatory diseases.
  • One needs omega-3 for the following reasons: proper cardiovascular function, proper neurological function, cell membrane maintenance, and fetal development.
  • Omega-3 fatty acids are known as good fats and there are three types in the world today.

"“Omega-3s” is another name for omega-3 fatty acids. These fats are found in the human body, as well as in certain foods like oily fish. Essential fatty acids are “essential” because the body cannot synthesize them on its own, therefore humans must get these fats from the diet."

Subject: Omega 3 Oil For Anxiety?

There is some evidence that omega-3 supplements can be effective in relieving anxiety. Recently, a Japanese research team looked at 19 previous studies and concluded that large doses of omega-3 supplements can relieve symptoms in adults diagnosed with anxiety disorder (though not in children or those with un-diagnosed anxiety). As an alternative to supplements, Dr. Andrew Weil recommends the consumption of oily, cold water fish as a means of ingesting omega-3, and suggests breathing exercises and meditation as ways to lessen anxiety.

Key Takeaways:

  • Our body cannot make omega-3 fatty acids and since they are needed by the body we have to get them from cold-water, oily fish.
  • The two essential omega-3 fatty acids are EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) which supports heart health and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) which is part of nerve cell membranes.
  • A study by Japanese researchers on omega-3 fatty acids found that it can help relieve anxiety disorders in people provided they are not below 18 years.

Pumpkins don't get the attention of other vegetables. Even during their season, it's the pies made from the meat of the pumpkin that get most of the table time. However, pumpkin seeds should not be relegated to the trash. Like sunflower, and other seeds, they make good snacking. And they have a lot of health benefits for users. For example, they're full of antioxidants, like many veggies, which makes them useful for warding off many unwanted conditions. They're good for hearts and for leveling blood sugar. Study has shown that the seeds benefit the heart in an array of ways. Nitric oxide is enhanced, while blood pressure and cholesterol are lowered. The seeds are protein-packed and fiber-rich, which means that sugar is absorbed more slowly. The seeds are also rich in tryptophan and magnesium, known to promote optimal sleep. Study has also shown that sperm count was enhanced and abnormalities were improved when rodent subjects were given pumpkin seeds. Certain seed properties may have anti-cancer effects as well, even the ability to help with overactive bladder syndrome.

Key Takeaways:

  • Pumpkin seeds are known to improve sleep quality and stabilize blood sugar levels.
  • Pumpkin seeds fight coronary heart disease by lowering cholesterol levels and blood pressure.
  • Pumpkin seeds can also improve male fertility and improve prostate health.

"However, there are many benefits of pumpkin seeds that make them a worthy addition to your diet, both during the holidays and all year round."

For example, for someone who is on a vegan diet to be able to improve their omega-3 levels, they must look for substances outside of food. Non-animal forms of DHA are proving to be very helpful.

Key Takeaways:

  • Some necessary fatty acids are hard to obtain when living on a vegan diet.
  • DHA is one polyunsaturated fatty acid, that belongs with the class of omega-3 fatty acids.
  • DHA levels in human beings are especially high in the retina, the brain and in sperm cells.

"In the review, author J.C. Craddock of the University of Wollongong in Australia said that supplementing with algae can raise DHA levels in vegetarians and vegans after combing through various studies that discussed the relationship between the two."

Subject: Another study finds turmeric and curcumin to be a safe, effectivetreatment for lowering cholesterol and protecting the heart

Turmeric and its much-lauded, health-giving component, curcumin, have had a health buzz about them for a long time. The health benefits to those that use turmeric and consequently curcumin, have long been noted. But, though its benefits for a wide array of bodily systems, including the cardiovascular, are not disputed, it has heretofore not been understood if turmeric, or more specifically curcumin, does some of its wonders by lowering lipid levels. The Second Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University has now performed a meta-analysis of available data, surrounding turmeric and curcumin, as a means of filling the knowledge gap. The researchers began by filtering the data, searching for studies revolving around turmeric, cholesterol and triglycerides. To ensure the data was all the more compelling and germane, the researchers trimmed down the parameters even more, allowing for only those tests that involved subjects laboring under the effects of metabolic syndrome or type 2 diabetes. In these cases possible negative effects to the heart would prove particularly relevant. The meta-analysis revealed that turmeric and curcumin had positive effects to impart on the levels of serum triglycerides apparent in its user-subjects. The two components also positively impacted the low-density lipo-protein cholesterol levels of the user-subjects. The researchers theorized that positive chemical activity was initiated by the components, thereby causing the beneficial aspects. Other cholesterol and lipid markers were not affected. In general, turmeric and curcumin have been shown to limit oxidative stress and inflammation as well as benefit the blood vessel lining, all of which can prevent a serious cardiac event.

Key Takeaways:

  • There are a lot of effective ways in which you can help lower your high cholesterol.
  • There are plenty of natural remedies out there that allow you to control your health.
  • These new substances are natural and have been proven to work on numerous different occasions.

"Turmeric and curcumin are two substances most known for their wide array of health benefits."

How to keep your microbiome happy

Your microbiome is an ecosystem of trillions of bacteria, yeast and other microbes inhabiting your digestive tract. Probiotic foods such as kimchi, miso soup and yogurt, along with probiotic supplements, can help keep up a robust microbiome. They are especially beneficial after a course of antibiotics. Foods like sauerkraut, full fat yogurt, and kombucha, a form of fermented tea, also support a healthy microbiome. Green tea and meditation, meanwhile, can help make your gut more hospitable to beneficial microbes.

Key Takeaways:

  • Probiotics, which are found in foods such as yogurt, pickles, and dark chocolate, help promote gut health.
  • Green tea is filled with nutrients as well as antioxidants that protect and nourish the lining of the digestive system.
  • If you can't spend more time in the sun, consider taking Vitamin D tablets, as Vitamin D is necessary for a healthy gut.

Why your brain fails as you age, what you can do now

It is the mitochondria inside your organelles that produce adenosine triphosphate, and if it does not function now then that is bad news for you. It means that your risk of developing a degenerative disease rises dramatically. No organ in your body is more dependent on energy than your brain, and older people who have their energy impaired open themselves up to such diseases. Additionally, as one ages, their mitochondria is decreased in functions and numbers.

Key Takeaways:

  • A person's mitochondria must function well or they become at risk for degenerative diseases.
  • Damaged mitochondria with badly damaged cells tend to accumulate and contribute to additional dysfunction.
  • With not enough energy, bad cells still will thrive and even multiply, which sums up cancer.

"If your mitochondria are not functioning well, your risk for chronic degenerative diseases will radically increase."

Hydrochloric Acid: The Stomach Acid that Defends Against GERD, Candida & Leaky Gut

Hydrochloric Acid is a key digestive juice which tends to decrease within your body as you get older, causing a variety of digestive and non-digestive issues. Less hydrochloric acid means a less acidic gut, which can result in higher incidence of heartburn, gas, acid reflux, bacterial or yeast infections and other conditions. While some decrease in hydrochloric acid is a common part of aging, eating too much processed food, not exercising and other lifestyle issues can exacerbate it.

Key Takeaways:

  • Hydrochloric Acid is a highly acidic enzyme produced in your stomach that plays a critical role in digesting food.
  • Production of hydrochloric acid tends to decrease somewhat with age, but this issue can be exacerbated by eating too much processed food, lack of exercise and other lifestyle issues.
  • Decreased production of hydrochloric acid in the stomach can be associated with indigestion, acid reflux, gas, yeast infections and other digestive ailments.

"Additionally, not producing enough HCL can lead to many other problems, such as skin problems, including acne or rosacea, mineral deficiencies and autoimmune reactions."
