Subject: Marijuana found to lower blood flow to the brain: Study authorssuggest this may increase risk of dementia, but this effect also makes itmedicinally useful for epileptics

Scientific literature on how marijuana works on the body is rapidly expanding. Right now, there are a plethora of studies on how marijuana works on the human brain. Some studies have shown that it can be effective in treating disorders of the brain like epilepsy. Recent tests show that marijuana can increase the risk of dementia because it restricts the flow of blood to the brain. These brain areas are essential for memory development. The area most affected is the hippocampus which can result in Alzheimer’s if prolonged. The researchers for the study used single photo emission computed tomography (SPECT) to measure blood flow to the brain after taking marijuana and they reported that there were very low and abnormal blood flow levels observed. This is when compared with persons who did not take marijuana. 982 patients were selected from a wide variety of data sources that was available to the researchers concerning persons who previously used or were still using marijuana. The results of the study showed that persons taking marijuana were at a risk of dementia due to the low blood flow to their hippocampus.

Key Takeaways:

  • The author notes that the studies regarding the effect of marijuana is increasing and this is particularly so regarding its effect on the brain.
  • Some recent tests show that it can increase the risk of dementia when marijuana is taken because it reduces the blood flow to the brain.
  • When the researchers used single photon emission computer tomography to analyze blood flow to the brain they observed abnormally low flow to the brain with users of marijuana.

"Users were analyzed using a brain SPECT and by conducting mental concentration tests against a sample of 100 people who had not used marijuana to determine whether there were significant differences that arose between users and non-users of cannabis."

Subject: Natural home remedies for burns

In an emergency, there are some home remedies that can help mitigate the effects of burns. The first step is always to cool the burn by running it under cool water for at least 10 minutes. Aloe Vera can be applied to burns to help promote quicker healing and control inflammation. Bathing in oatmeal can help to reduce itching, especially when the burn begins to heal. Raw honey may also have antibacterial properties, while the tannins in witch hazel can reduce swelling and help repair your skin.

Key Takeaways:

  • When one has burns and injuries, they should be treated and given full attention quickly and immediately otherwise there is the risk of infections.
  • The first treatment to give to a burned area is to cool the wound under running water for ten to fifteen minutes.
  • Aloe vera is good for treating burns. It acts as a natural remedy and can easily be found because it can be grown indoors in pots.

"The injured skin is traumatized and using ice on the patient’s skin will constrict blood vessels and decrease blood circulation to an area that desperately needs it."

How Does Excess Sugar Affect The Brain?

Subject: How Does Excess Sugar Affect The Brain?

Excess sugar intake is unambiguously harmful to the body and the brain. In addition to widely understood risks like diabetes and obesity, elevated blood sugar can produce anxiety and interfere with emotions and mood. Eating too much sugar can also impact your brain’s reward-response system in ways that make you hungrier and more prone to overeating. High blood sugar can also constrict blood vessels, contributing to impaired cognitive functioning. Eating more fresh fruit as a substitute for added sugar and DRINKING more water can help reduce sugar levels in the brain.

Key Takeaways:

  • Too much sugar can be addictive to the brain and cause chemical imbalances.
  • Having too much sugar in the system can impair cognitive skills and processes
  • High glucose levels can damage the circulatory system both in the brain and thorough the body

"Excess sugar intake does damages our bodies in more ways than one."

Subject: Can reishi mushrooms help prevent cancer and other life-threateningdiseases?

Reishi mushrooms and reishi extract have substantial health benefits, especially for boosting your immune system. Reishi mushrooms include a diverse array of bioactive compounds that, collectively, may boost cellular metabolism and restore the efficiency that the immune system tends to lose over time. Studies also indicate that reishi mushroom compounds may help induce immune cells to target cancer cells more aggressively, and boost the cancer-fighting functions of the spleen and thymus. Reishi mushrooms extracts may also help boost your overall immune system response against viruses and other pathogens.

Key Takeaways:

  • Eating reishi mushrooms better prepares the immune system of the body for diseases that might attack it such as hepatitis B, cancer, and human immunodeficiency syndrome.
  • Reishi mushroom extracts have been shown to variously restrict the growth of timorous cells thereby decreasing one’s risk of getting cancer and extending one’s life.
  • Reishi mushroom’s status as a powerful and active superfood is made stabilized by the presence of various bio-active molecules which work together in the mushroom.

"Reishi mushroom extracts can block the human immunodeficiency virus, hepatitis B virus, and other infectious microbes from compromising the health of the targeted organs."

Can I Eat Fruit On a Keto Diet?

Subject: Can I Eat Fruit On a Keto Diet?

The ketogenic diet is now trending across the globe, but many have many impressions about this eating regimen that are far from the truth. One of these myths surround the fact that keto dieters cannot consume any carbs at all, making the majority of fruits off limits. Keto followers can actually have up to 50 grams of carbohydrates to start, and they are encouraged to consume healthy fruits that are low in carbohydrates such as lemons or avocados.

Key Takeaways:

  • People often ask if they can eat fruit on a ketogenic diet because in the keto world fruits are often a contentious subject.
  • It is wrong for people to label some foods as keto or non-keto rather they should set diet goals based on their health, activity level, and food preferences.
  • For people who adhere to a very strict definition of keto, the carbs in a fruit can take away a large chunk of their daily carb recommendations.

"Higher carb fruits are going to be harder to incorporate into a keto diet while still allowing room for the liberal intake of vegetables and avocados encouraged in the Keto Reset."

Subject: Fiber doesn't just do wonders for your gut: It also can also keepbreast cancer at bay

We're all well aware of the digestive benefits associated with high amounts of fiber in out diets, but research is now showing that increasing your fiber can actually reduce one's vulnerability to breast cancer. Problems with insulin and glucose levels are often a primary culprit in the development in breast cancer, and fiber actually has the ability to regulate glucose levels. Since glucose levels remain more stable after regularly taking in fiber, the odds of developing breast cancer can be reduced.

Key Takeaways:

  • Limiting sugars, grilled food, certain carbs, red meat, and fried food are dietary restrictions that may help prevent cancer.
  • There are two types of fiber that are defined based on their ability to be digested by the gut.
  • Both types of fiber assist with hormonal regulation and can assist with the prevention of breast cancer.

"On its way out, insoluble fiber brushes the insides of the colon. This helps eliminate harmful substances so that they don’t accumulate in the body."

Subject: Take this happy pill: Deficiency in vitamin D is linked todepression among urban Malaysian women

Vitamin deficiencies are running rampant around the world, impacting a substantial amount of individuals. Over 70% of Malaysian women in urban areas tested positive for a vitamin D deficiency, specifically. The reason so many Malaysian women are prone to vitamin D deficiencies is because they have darker pigmentation, and they are heavily restricted in many forms of clothing. The lack of sunlight exposure due to these characteristics is what potentially contributes to an increase in levels of depression.

Key Takeaways:

  • It is widely known that Vitamin D is linked to calcium and bone growth, but the deficiency has also been linked to depression among Malaysian women.
  • Vitamin D is gotten by the body through skin synthesis when exposed to the sun but these women are deficient through darker skin pigmentation and religious clothing styles.
  • Some of the signs one can perceive when a person is deficient in Vitamin D are back or bone pain, getting sick or infected oftener, and hair loss.

"Based on the study findings, over 70 percent of the urban Malaysian women surveyed were vitamin D deficient."

A recent Annals of Saudi Medicine article suggests that black cumin can have significant benefits for the respiratory health of people with asthma. Researchers from Saudi Arabia’s Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University conducted a clinical trial involving 76 asthma patients. They supplemented the patients’ maintenance inhaler regimens with either one gram or two grams of black cumin, or else a placebo. Subsequent evaluation found that those who had received any amount of black cumin supplementation saw better improvement in lung function relative to those who did not receive any.

Key Takeaways:

  • A study published in the “Annals of Saudi Medicine” suggests that taking black cumin along with regular maintenance inhaler therapy is effective for people with asthma.
  • Asthma, which is caused by chronic inflammation in the lungs, is incurable and causes recurring periods of wheezing, chest tightness, shortness of breath, and coughing.
  • The researchers who used about seventy-six participants for the study examined how black cumin has an effect on inflammation of the airways and airflow restriction in asthmatic patients.

"Research suggests that black cumin, also known as Nigella sativa, can help people with asthma."

Vegan diets are something that is really in fashion right now. Years ago, very few people were following vegan diets. People did not pay much attention to it but now, due to social media and marketing, these diets are getting more and more hype. As a result, you should try to make sure you are getting all the nutrients you need when on this diet. It is only natural for there to be some kind of nutrient deficiency when on this sort of meal plan.

Key Takeaways:

  • There are many benefits that come from going and trying out a vegan diet for a period of time.
  • There is a reason as to why most people who try to be vegans do not last very long at all.
  • When you are on these kinds of diets, you need to make up for a deficiency in some nutrients in other ways.

"Following a vegetarian or (the stricter) vegan lifestyle is rewarding, but it also comes with some challenges. Foregoing meat means you lose out on a major source of protein, but the list below includes other Paleo meat-free sources of this crucial nutrient."

Subject: Congress Finally Frees Hemp From Jail: Big News For Farmers and CBDIndustry

The Farm Act that was recently passed by Congress allows farmers across the nation to freely grow hemp as they please. Unfortunately, there are still restrictions set on the production of CBD products, which leaves a grey area in terms of what is acceptable and unacceptable. CBD oil is becoming more and more prevalent in treating psychological symptoms without the psychoactive effects that marijuana has. Industry leaders suspect that this bill passing is the first step in the CBD industry ultimately exploding.

Key Takeaways:

  • Since 1970, hemp has had the black label on the Schedule 1 drug. But recently, congress gave it its freedom and legalized it.
  • Despite the passing of the bill on hemp, the status of CBD by the food and drug administration is as an illegal substance.
  • Hemp does not take much to grow. It requires little water, is excellent for the soil and does not require pesticides.

"At any rate, the passing of the Farm Bill is sure to have implications on the growing CBD industry."

Cascara Sagrada for Constipation Relief & Other Uses (+ Side Effects)

For those people who are trying to find relief for constipation and things of that nature, there are many different options. Now, prune juice and the good old "push it out" have been working well for a really long period of time. However, as we all know, things have changed and not everyone is as tough as people were in the past. Therefore, there have been measures taken to see if this process can be more comfortable for people.

Key Takeaways:

  • Although used as an herbal laxative, it is not recommended for users to continue with Cascara Sagrada for more than a week.
  • The Cascara tree grows to around 32 feet and is at this time considered an endangered species.
  • Other than its strictly medicinal uses, Cascara is used in the processing of sunscreens and as a flavoring agent.

"So what does cascara do? Other than it’s long history of use as a laxative for constipation, some people believe it can be used as a treatment for liver problems, gallstones, and cancer — but the evidence to date for these uses is lacking."

Where in the world is cannabis legal?

Cannabis, which is a marijuana-based compound, has pronounced medicinal affects, despite also have a psychotropic effect. Cannabidiol, which is hemp-based, has many of the same medicinal affects, without the intoxicant. However, cannabis is still valued by many, who consider it to be of greater benefit than its near-neighbor, cannabidiol, in some areas.

Many parts of the world are reviewing their strictures currently allied against the legal use of cannabis. In the UK there is now debate as to whether it may indeed be time to look at legalizing the compound for medicinal purposes. However, Britain's governing bodies have said that should this happen it is not to be understood that legalization of marijuana for the purposes of recreation will follow. Uruguay was the first country to make the growing, marketing, supplying and use of marijuana completely legal. Canada is slated to become country number two.

Key Takeaways:

  • 2013 was a landmark year for cannabis-users and for the African country of Uruguay.
  • In that year, Uruguay became the first nation to make the growing, marketing, supplying and use of marijuana legal.
  • In the wake of a national furor over a young boy with epilepsy having his cannabis oil confiscated, UK officials are considering the legalization of cannabis for medicinal purposes.

"In Canada, the nation's politicians are working on legislation that would protect young people while allowing adults to use the drug recreationally."

Many government and regulatory agencies around the world are warming up to the important medical benefits of cannabidiol, an oil compound derived from medicinal marijuana. But, even more surprisingly, one of the most strict anti-substance-use agencies in the world is turning its interest to the idea as well. The World Anti-Doping Agency, the arbiter of doping in sport and one of the strictest regulatory bodies around, has been taking testimonials from athletes regarding the potential usefulness of this substance.

Key Takeaways:

  • Cannabinoids are coming to light as serious medical substances with major potential to help with a wide range of compounds.
  • Even the World Anti-Doping Agency, a famously stanch opponent of any sort of chemical enhancement, is beginning to consider CBDs as legal supplements.
  • This decision came in light of a number of testimonies from star athletes and CBD supporters.

"Thanks to the World Anti-Doping Agency's (WADA) decision in September of last year, CBD is no longer a prohibited substance as of this year."

Subject: Can your dog be arrested for using a cannabis extract?

Thomas McDermott, a Democrat and the Mayor of Hammond, Indiana, brought up the legality of using cannabidiol oil (CBD) for treating his Labrador retriever's arthritis at the BGD Legislative Conference in Indianapolis. At the conference was Republican Indiana Attorney General Curtis Hill who last month stated that the use of CBD was illegal in most circumstances in his state after a bill passed to allow epilepsy patients to legally use the oil for seizures. McDermott questioned Hill using a story about his dog that suffered from arthritis, noting that his vet recommended using CBD oil to treat the pain. He mentioned that the oil allowed his dog to move around more easily, had more energy, and had improved appetite. McDermott thought aloud that Hill was "grandstanding" on CBD, but Hill simply stated he was following the law as it was written. When McDermott asked if his dog was breaking the law, Hill responded that the Mayor himself was breaking the law - not the dog. McDermott was upset afterwards that Hill accused him for being a criminal for treating his dog with CBD, and he has no plans to change the therapy for his dog.

Key Takeaways:

  • The owners dog currently used CBD and that is restricted in Indiana for use.
  • The dog is currently on it due to arthritis and it seems to cure his condition.
  • The final conclusion was that the owner was breaking the law, not the dog since the dog has no agency.

"The question Thomas McDermott wanted answered Wednesday doesn’t get asked often during policy discussions in Indiana: Could his Labrador retriever be breaking the law by using a pain remedy extracted from cannabis?"

Our diets have changed a lot over the past few decades. Foods have come and gone and overall, we have gotten worse at eating. Processed foods are a lot more common now. Fruits and veggies are actually less common than processed foods. It is also impossible to go down the road a few miles and not spot a fast food chain that has sprung up in the area. The Paleo diet is a rejection of this fast food lifestyle.

Key Takeaways:

  • The Paleo diet- a diet of consuming only foods similar to the diets of our hunter-gatherer ancestors- has become popular for being associated with weight loss, reducing satiety, and other benefits.
  • However, the Paleo diet may also have downsides, as no definitive data has been found that it improves our health. Paleo diet also may restrict intake of healthy macronutrients.
  • Take care with starting a paleo plan. Not all paleo-friendly foods are healthy. Best advice is to talk to doctor if experiencing negative effects.

"The Paleo diet has been associated with many health benefits from better blood sugar levels to reduced inflammation. Considered one of the best diet plans for weight loss because it’s high in protein and fat and emphasizes nutrient-rich foods, it may also increase satiety and help correct nutrient deficiencies. Still, the diet has remained the subject of much controversy in recent years."

Subject: 4 Groundbreaking Studies on Cannabis and Disease

Cannabis is becoming more popular for the treatment of many diseases and ailments. It is becoming legal in more places as well due to studies which show its effectiveness. This talks about four such studies. If you are leery of cannabis this might ease your mind. It is often helpful. Many people swear by it as a treatment. It also doesn't tend to have many negative side effects the way medications can. It is safer.

Key Takeaways:

  • Presently, 29 states and the District of Columbia have regulations in place that allow physicians to recommend medical cannabis to patients, however, dosage and treatment information is lacking.
  • There are currently four medical cannabis clinical trials happening in North America, which are assessing the benefits of medical cannabis on Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, PTSD, and brain tumors.
  • Hopefully, these new studies will help researchers and physicians determine exact doseages and treatment applications for specific ailments.

"This study will allow researchers to better understand the potential risks and benefits of cannabis use among veterans with PTSD and aid in cannabis-based decision making among patients and their physicians."

Subject: Fat, fructose and calories: 5 nutrition 'facts' we used to believe

As nutrition knowledge is changing and we have found that many 'facts' from 25 years ago just do not hold true. Fat used to be an enemy, but we now know that it is a necessity from the right sources. Because we thought fructose was better for diabetics, it soon was added to everything. It is still fine in moderation in fruit, but not added to food. All calories are the same and calories in, calories out are also 'facts' that we now know are just not true.

Key Takeaways:

  • Certain types of fatty foods are good for cardiovascular health.
  • To lose weight, reduce your calorie intake instead of food restrictions.
  • With sugar intake, make sure you brush teeth and be mindful about it.

"Nutritional science changes quickly, and knowledge that was gleaned from a 25-year-old nutrition textbook needs to be refreshed."

Although the Washington state legislature has allowed hemp to once again be grown in the state, there are still some questions and uncertainties about growing the product. For now, those growing hemp are doing it for research purposes to monitor what the future growers will need it to do in order to create an industrial hemp harvest. Despite the four different types of licenses being granted, there is still some caution because of the plants close relationship it to marijuana. Hopefully some restrictions will change and beneficial aspects of the hemp can be produced, such as CBD oil.

Key Takeaways:

  • New Washington state law has made hemp growing for industrial use possible.
  • Hemp is the stalk of a marijuana plant and can be used for a variety of purposes.
  • Washington State Department of Agriculture provides hemp seeds for licensed growers.

"Hector Castro, Olympia-based communications director for the WSDA, says although the program is new, it’s generated a lot of interest from farmers and others who see potential in harvesting hemp."

Subject: Hemp 101: What It Is, And How It Can Save The World

Many people believe that hemp and marijuana are the same substance, but they are more like cousins than brother and sister. This is important to note since the uses of hemp are many and the effects on our environment and economy could be great. In the attached article, the author provides an overview of the historical and current uses of the hemp plant, describes the misunderstanding of its properties and details the legal and political obstacles its use has met. The author recommends that US farmers and manufacturers continue to work toward removal of growing restrictions and increased use of hemp in industrial and commercial applications.

Key Takeaways:

  • Although hemp and weed are from the same cannabis species, hemp actually contains less than 1% of THC.
  • Hemp has many environmental benefits and its products can compete with the plastic industry.
  • If we educate our legislators on the benefits of hemp, we have the potential to save the Earth.

"Hemp won’t get you high, after all, but it seems to carry the same controversy as weed does."

Republicans came to love hemp very much. Hemp looks just like marijuana but it does not make you high. The world appears to be turned upside down now because there are republicans that are supporting hemp. But, not just any kind of cannabis. The kind that has been endorsed in known as industrial hemp. Hemp is a very strong thing. The seeds can actually be eaten or turned into many different things. They have been used to create beauty products.

Key Takeaways:

  • Republican legislators are legalizing the growing of hemp by American farmers.
  • Farmers will not grow hemp crops unless there is a market to sell their products.
  • Commercial hemp farming operations are currently restricted by controlled substance laws

"The United States imports upwards of $600 million worth of hemp-based products each year — so American law allows hemp products, it just doesn’t make it easy for American companies to make them."

According to a study by the University of California following a Mediterranean diet could significantly reduce the risk of dementia. Other studies seem to agree that a diet low in meat and dairy but is rich in fresh fruit and vegetables, beans, nuts, and healthy fats significantly reduce the risk of cognitive decline. There are some studies showing that there is marked improvement in cognition when a person strictly adhered to the diet as well as decreasing inflammation, reducing obesity, healthier lipid panels and such.

Key Takeaways:

  • A Mediterranean-style diet is one low in meat and dairy but rich in fresh fruit and vegetables, cereals, beans, nuts and ‘healthy’ fats like olive oil.
  • Patients with greater diet adherence were also less likely to develop Alzheimer’s disease than those with lower adherence
  • The researchers also noted that the diet scheme helped improve a large number of risk factors associated with cognitive decline.

"The Mediterranean diet, which includes mostly oily fish, vegetables and nuts, has long been touted as a highly effective diet scheme against a plethora of diseases."

Subject: If you get less than 7 hours of sleep, this is what can happen to your belly fat

When adult don’t get the recommended amount of sleep (7-8 hours), the body is out of balance, especially with a proper eating schedule. Sleep deprivation can lead to poor nutritional habits (i.e. eating convenience food at any hour of the day). This can lead to heart disease and diabetes. Getting enough sleep allows the body to reset and can help ward off many diseases. There are many techniques, such as hypnosis shown in the video, or limited screen time before bed, to relax and aide in the sleeping process.

[video mp4="https://www.healthnutnews.com/if-you-get-less-than-7-hours-of-sleep-this-is-what-can-happen-to-your-belly-fat/"]

Key Takeaways:

  • Levels of endocannabinoid 2-arachidonoylglycerol (2-AG), a chemical that makes foods pleasurable, were elevated when the participants were sleep deprived.
  • Another revealing study showed that one night of sleep deprivation led to impairments in insulin sensitivity similar to those caused by six months of eating a poor diet.
  • Insufficient sleep may also be a contributing factor in the recurrence of breast cancer and more aggressive forms of breast cancer among post-menopausal women

"Even willpower may not be enough to overcome lack of sleep’s not-so-subtle influence on your appetite, as sleep restriction is associated with activation of your endocannabinoid system — the same one activated by marijuana."

Subject: Dr. Mercola: How and why too much protein triggers aging and cancer

Dr. Ron Rosedale's theory several years ago that too much protein can be a bad thing is gradually becoming accepted through further research. He theorizes you should eat foods that help you burn fat and not sugar. Proteins burn sugar but diets high in fat do not and can actually be very healthy for people with diabetes and heart problems. Too much protein prevents removal of damaging cells that can lead to aging and cancer. The best diet is moderate protein, low carb and high in fat.

Key Takeaways:

  • Excessive protein intake can do more harm to your body. Any food that helps you burn fat can be beneficial to your health.
  • Restricting protein can benefit your health, especially helping the aging process.
  • Contrary to traditional belief, a low-carb, moderate protein, and high fat diet would be the healthiest balance.

"In a nutshell, this hypothesis completely ignores the “calories in, calories out” dogma, and instead focuses on foods that support hormones and growth factors that make your body burn fat rather than sugar."

A new trend has emerged in the current marijuana market. A new strain offers users all the same medical benefits as marijuana without any psychoactive affects. Since it lacks THC it will not get you high. This puts the product in a legal gray area which may make it difficult to legally use in stricter states. Subject: Why anti-inflammatory eating is the next big thing

It is becoming increasingly clear that chronic inflammation is the root cause of many serious illnesses – including heart disease, many cancers, and Alzheimer’s disease. We all know inflammation on the surface of the body as local redness, heat, swelling and pain. It is the cornerstone of the body’s healing response, bringing more nourishment and more immune activity to a site of injury or infection. But when inflammation persists or serves no purpose, it damages the body and causes illness. Stress, lack of exercise, genetic predisposition, and exposure to toxins.

Key Takeaways:

  • The new eating fad is the anti-inflammatory diet. Gisele has a flat stomach, follow this diet and way of life. So if you want to be like Gisele start eating the anti-inflammatory diet.
  • This is a strict diet and some staple vegetables are prohibited.
  • The diet seems like it is here to stay. People are busy and stressed and this diet seems to help balance things our for them.

"Said to support everything from a balanced microbiome and strong bones to helping fight cancer, the anti-inflammatory diet is not only proven to be powerful medically, but mimics much of the same clean-eating philosophy."

Subject: No Need Of Inhalers, This Juice Will Totally Cure Asthma Attacks

There is no need for an inhaler, if you are a person with asthma, as long as you have a certain kind of juice. It is a natural remedy that helps people with asthma. Attacks are always scary things. Inhalers help people get air into their lungs. Lemons and lemon juice are considered beneficial to people with asthma.

Key Takeaways:

  • One of the chronic lung conditions caused by chronic inflammation and thickening of the bronchial tubes is asthma. It is extremely serious because it can lead to suffocation. Most asthma sufferers are allergic and sensitive.
  • People with asthma use an inhaler, which is a medical device. It helps them breathe the medicine straight into the lungs where it is needed.
  • However, inhalers are a potential risk for additional health issues, as they contain many chemicals which are detrimental from the lungs.

"Sodium and monosodium glutamate can increase the constriction of the bronchial tubes that the histamine causes."

There has been a crackdown on the use of antibiotics to treat cattle in recent years. In order to overcome the restrictions put on antibiotics to treat diseases in animals, many farmers are turning to other additives that can help fend off disease in their livestock. Hubbard Feeds in Mankato, MN is one leader in organic alternative options for their cattle. They opt to use trace minerals to boost the immune system. This works because your body usually breaks down when it doesn’t get what it needs from the diet. If cattle ingests the needed nutrients, they are healthier.

Key Takeaways:

  • For years, livestock producers have relied on readily available antibiotics to feed their animals for the treatment and prevention of disease.
  • hey were a necessary tool to maintain animal health. With the introduction of the Veterinary Feed Directive, antibiotics are not nearly as available to farmers as they were one year ago and producers are looking at other feed additives as a replacement to promote health.
  • We are owned by Alltech,” he said. “They are known internationally as a supplier of organic trace minerals.”

""Trace minerals are a key part to maintaining animal health.""

Hemp is a really amazing plant. Energy drinks are a huge industry, but most of them are very unhealthy and even illegal to be sold to minors. The government of the United States has outlawed a crop that was cultivated for 10000 years. However, there has been an easing on the restrictions from both the state and federal levels recently.

Key Takeaways:

  • Energy drinks are a multi-billion dollar industry while at the same time one of the most criticized. Energy drinks are thought of as poison by many with politicians and healthcare professionals alike trying to eliminate the industry.
  • Bills have been passed in the EU and the US to ban sales to minors. I’m not sure why. The only thing that ought to scare is the sugar content. That doesn’t change the fact there are growing health concerns, warranted or not.
  • With the power food hemp, its products have ingredients everyone can read and understand right away: carbonated water, beet sugar, citric acid, guarana extract, caffeine, ginseng extract, and natural flavor. Most importantly, it doesn’t contain high fructose corn syrup.

"As cannabis continues to legalize, hemp is a wonder plant with never ever benefits, and it will continue to integrate in consumer products like RMHB."

Subject: Link between dietary restriction, longevity examined

The link between dietary restriction and longevity has been examined. Research has been done and shows that cutting back on calories can actually expand the life span of roundworms. This is important because it shows that we can enhance our health and not have to put huge dietary restrictions on ourselves.

Key Takeaways:

  • Scientists at the MDI Biological Laboratory have published research which improves the understanding of the mechanisms by which the lifespan of roundworms can be lengthened by cutting back on calories.
  • In a paper recently published in the journal “Aging Cell,” MDI Biological Laboratory scientist Aric Rogers shed light on an important genetic pathway underlying this process, raising the possibility that therapies can be developed that prolong the healthy years.
  • The identification of a mechanism underlying the protective effect of dietary restriction could lead to therapies for age-related diseases, including Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s, that are associated with diminished cellular quality control.

"The life-prolonging effects of dietary restriction, or calorie restriction, occur in just about every animal tested."

Subject: Marijuana Compound Shows Some Potential for Treating Opioid Addiction

A marijuana compound has shown some potential for treating Opioid addiction. it might help people who suffer from addiction to heroine by getting rid of some of the symptoms that come from withdrawing. More research needs to be done in this area so people can start getting help. It is a very important thing.

Key Takeaways:

  • A component of marijuana may help heroin users resist the urge to use the drug and alleviate withdrawal symptoms, but more research should be done in this area, according to a new review of previous research.
  • So far, research on these marijuana compounds, called cannabinoids, for treating opioid addiction has been scarce because of certain regulations that restrict their testing in humans, according to the review.
  • This dearth of research in the field is particularly important considering the ongoing epidemic of opioid abuse in the United States, according to the review author.

Subject: Possible new head of the FDA is a supporter of medical marijuana … Could Trump's FDA finally stop suppressing cannabis?

Back on November 8th 2016 there was much celebration among the marijuana community. There were four more states that legalized adult use cannabis and several, including Florida, that legalized medical marijuana.  However, there was still a lump in the back of many of our throats.  Sessions has a long standing anti-drug stance and has made some strong comments against cannabis legalization. Recently the Trump administration has made a surprising announcement when they confirmed previous reports that Jim O'Neil is being considered to lead the Food and Drug Administration.

Key Takeaways:

  • For decades, cannabis advocates have pushed for universal legalization of medical marijuana. Citing scientific study after scientific study, they have forcefully (and truthfully) argued that legalization would provide much needed relief to millions of people suffering from a host of medical ailments.
  • But the federal government has only responded with continued bans and regulatory restrictions that have limited access to the many who wish to freely choose this alternative medical treatment. In fact, the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) has now technically reclassified cannabis extracts as a Schedule I substance, putting them in the same category as heroin.
  • Now, however, the nightmarish over-regulation of cannabis may be about to be dismantled. President Donald J. Trump may be about to nominate someone to head up the Food and Drug Administration who believes in, and is a fan of, medical marijuana. Doctored marijuana gives relief to boy

Many anti-marijuana advocates state that the drug is harmful. There are thousands, if not millions, of people who claim that it can help give relief to those with chronic conditions. It’s easy to state that, but what about a real-life case to back it up? Think about Jackson Leyden, who started having several seizures a day at the age of 8. He has tried almost all seizure therapies out there and nothing worked. Within just a few days of starting THC extract therapy, he had barely any seizures. He went from having 200 a month to about two per month.

Key Takeaways:

  • Washington - Jackson Leyden had always been a healthy kid; he practiced taekwondo, and he played lacrosse and baseball. But in 2011, a few months after his eighth birthday, he began having seizures several times a day.
  • Over the next two years, he was hospitalised about 50 times, and he missed much of fourth and fifth grade. His parents took him to more than 20 doctors around the country, and he tried more than a dozen medications. Nothing worked.
  • They decided to see whether marijuana might help. (Medical use of the drug is legal in the District of Columbia, where they live, and the Leydens found a doctor willing to work with them.) In 2014, Jackson got his first dose of cannabis.

"The strain of marijuana that Jackson takes is unusual: It contains high levels of cannabidiol, or CBD, one of the two main molecules in marijuana; the other is tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC. While THC is famously mind-altering, CBD is not."
